A system for retrieving material from a cavity in a patient may include a tube having a proximal end and a distal end, the scope configured to be inserted into the cavity, and a filter assembly disposed between the tube and a vacuum source configured to apply negative pressure through the tube to cause the material to flow through the tube from the distal end to the proximal end, the filter assembly including a filter configured to trap the material in the filter assembly, and allow liquid and gases to pass through the filter assembly.
Abstract:
A method for identifying material to be removed from a patient may use an imaging device, a display, a control unit, and an insertion device. The method may include obtaining a first set of image data from the imaging device, sending the first set of image data to the control unit from the imaging device, and analyzing the first set of image data based on at least one of a darkness, a contrast, or a saturation. The method may include generating a coded image identifying the material to be removed from the patient to be displayed on the display. The method may further include displaying the coded image on a first screen of the display, and indicating the material to be removed with the insertion device based on the displayed coded image.

The device may comprise: a handle body extending along an axis between first end and a second end; an actuator at the first end of the handle body; a catheter at the second end of the handle body; and a processing unit communicable with a plurality of devices to: switch-in the actuator for control of one device of the plurality of devices; configure, with the actuator, a setting of the one device, control, with the actuator, the one device based on the setting, and switch-in the actuator for control of another one of the plurality of devices. At least a portion of the end effector may be movable relative to the sheath between extended and retracted states. The end effector may include a support member extending from the distal end of the sheath, and a movable member extending from the distal end of the support member. The device may include a handle assembly at the proximal end of the sheath, having an actuation member for transitioning the end effector between the extended and retracted states. The device may include a biasing member coupled to at least one of the actuation member and the sheath that may control a force, exerted by one of the movable members and the support member on the other, generated by relative movement between the movable and support members.

One method comprises: receiving macroscan data prior to an operation; defining a body information model from the macroscan data; positioning a navigation component in the body during the operation; generating microscan data with the navigation component; correlating a location in the macroscan data with a location in the microscan data in the body information model; and/or modifying the body information model by combining an image in the microscan data with an image in the macroscan data.

A medical device for tissue manipulation within a body cavity includes a shaft having a lumen extending therethrough from a proximal end to a distal end and a first channel extending within the lumen, an expandable end-effector extending from a proximal end to a distal end, and an expansion mechanism. The end-effector includes a first portion and a second portion and is movable from a first configuration in which the first and second portions are adjacent to one another to a second configuration in which the first and second portions are separated along an axis perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the shaft. The expansion mechanism is positioned between the first and second portions and expandable to move the end effector from the first configuration to the second configuration.

A retrieval device having a contracted state and an expanded state may include a sheath, and at least three support members each having at least two lumens, a proximal end fixed to the sheath, and a distal end movable relative to the sheath. The retrieval device may also include at least three movable members movable relative to the support members. Each movable member may extend through a lumen of one support member of the at least three support members and through a lumen of a different support member of the at least three support members.
