    摘要： A FireNet security system in which trustworthy networks, called BlackNets, each comprising One (1) or more client computers, are protected by FireBreaks against attacks from untrustworthy networks, called RedNets. All incoming transactions from the RedNet are examined by the FireBreak to determine if they violate any of a plurality of protection rules stored in a local protection rules database. Any transaction found to be in violation is discarded. Valid transactions are forwarded to the BlackNet. If an otherwise valid transaction is found to be suspicious, the FireBreak will forward to a FireNet Server relevant information relating to that transaction. If the FireNet Server verifies that the transaction is indeed part of an attack, the FireNet Server will create new protection rules suitable to defend against the newly identified source or strategy of attack. Periodically, all FireBreaks in the FireNet system will transfer, directly or indirectly, all new rules.

    摘要： A circuit and method for programming and control of an integrated circuit includes a control pin receiving an applied input voltage selected from a set of predetermined programming voltages and an on-chip control voltage decode circuit to select one of multiple programming states for the integrated circuit based on the applied input voltage. In one embodiment, an off-chip voltage divider is used to establish the set of predetermined programming voltages. The on-chip control voltage decode circuit includes a voltage divider to generate comparison voltage levels for detecting the voltage level of the input voltage for selecting the desired programming state. The comparison voltage levels include voltages having voltage values that are midway between pairs of adjacent programming voltages. The voltage decode circuit includes a control circuit receiving comparison results from comparators and generating an output control signal for selecting the desired digital state based on the comparison results.

    摘要： An initialization vector (IV) is employed to decrypt a block of a stream that has been encrypted with Cypher Block Chaining (CBC) encryption, without requiring decryption of previous blocks within the stream. For example, a listener who accesses a distribution point to retrieve encrypted content authenticates himself to an application server that regulates access to encrypted content on the distribution point, and responsively receives a key. The listener then requests access to a reference point within the encrypted content stream somewhere after its beginning (e.g., using preview clips). The distribution point relates the reference point to a corresponding block of the encrypted stream, and identifies an IV previously used for encryption of that block. The distribution point provides the associated encrypted block of content and the IV to the listener to enable mid-stream rendering of the encrypted content, without requiring the listener to decrypt previous blocks within the encrypted stream.

    摘要： Dose counter assemblies are provided herein which allow for the counting of used doses of a medical inhaler. In one aspect, one dose counter ring is utilized. This provides for dose counting but with inherent limitations in the number of doses which may be counted. In a second, and preferred, aspect of the subject invention, two cooperating does counter rings are utilized which allow for adjacent digits to be displayed, thereby allowing an increased number of doses to be counted. Advantageously, with the subject invention, due to mechanical interactions, reliable dose counting can be achieved with the subject invention.
