摘要: An exemplary battery support assembly includes a bladder device with a pocket that receives at least one battery cell of a traction battery. The bladder provides a fluid flow path that diverges at an end of the pocket into a first section on a first side of the pocket and a second section on an opposing, second side of the pocket. An exemplary battery support method includes moving a flow of fluid along a fluid flow path toward at least one battery cell; and diverging the flow into a first or second section of the fluid flow path such that the flow moves along opposing sides of the at least one battery cell.

摘要: A vehicle traction battery assembly may include a traction battery cell, a case, and a thermal plate. The case may define a cavity to receive the traction battery cell and has a first side defining a first form feature. The thermal plate may be for positioning adjacent the traction battery cell and define a coolant channel sized for engagement with the case via the first form feature such that traction battery cell is in thermal communication with coolant flowing through the coolant channel. The first form feature may be serpentine-shaped or S-shaped. The first form feature may be castle-shaped from a cross-sectional plan view. The case may be multi-layered and include a first polymer layer, a second polymer layer, and an aluminum layer disposed between the polymer layers.

摘要: A power electronics assembly may include a power electronics device, a packaging assembly, a thermal management system, and an emitter. The packaging assembly supports power electronics device. The thermal management system supports the packaging assembly and includes a thermal plate to deliver coolant for thermally communicating with the device. The thermal plate defines a channel with a wall. The emitter is arranged with the wall to form a peristaltic pump to adjust a cross-sectional area of the channel to control a flow of coolant therethrough. A membrane may be partially secured to the wall and include one of dielectric particles or magnetic particles. The emitter may selectively output one of a voltage, an electric field, or a magnetic field to impart a force on the particles to move the membrane and adjust the cross-sectional area of the channel to control a flow of coolant therethrough.

摘要: A battery assembly including an array of battery cells, a conduit system, and an emitter is provided. The conduit system may deliver coolant for thermally communicating with the array and may define a channel with a wall having dielectric or magnetic particles. The emitter may be located proximate the wall and configured to selectively output a magnetic field, an electric field, or a voltage to impart a compression force on the particles to adjust a cross-sectional area of the channel to control a flow of the coolant therethrough. The channel may be a flexible resin-based tube. The assembly may also include a sensor and a controller. The controller may be configured to activate the emitter based on signals from the sensor indicative of conditions of the assembly or system.

摘要: A battery housing assembly for housing battery components of an electric vehicle includes a battery tray, a lid, and a sealant. The battery tray includes a channel located outwardly relative to the battery components. The lid is secured to the battery tray and includes an end portion disposed within the channel. The lid further includes at least one alignment feature configured to align the lid and the battery tray. The sealant is disposed within a portion of the channel of the battery tray and is configured to secure the battery tray and the lid to each other. The sealant is further configured to seal an internal cavity of the battery housing assembly.
