Abstract: An event scheduling system for collecting image data related to one or more events by one or more autonomous vehicles includes a centralized scheduling system in wireless communication with one or more autonomous vehicles. Each autonomous vehicle collects the image data related to the one or more events while following a unique travel schedule. The centralized scheduling system executes instructions to determine the unique travel schedule for a specific autonomous vehicle, where the unique travel schedule directs the specific autonomous vehicle to the specific location of the filtered event to collect the image data.

Abstract: A multimedia system is provided for a scalable infotainment system of a motor vehicle. The scalable infotainment system includes a camera, which is releasably attached to the motor vehicle and supports camera software components for generating a media signal. The multimedia system includes a media player and a computer attached to the motor vehicle. The computer has a processor and a non-transitory computer readable storage medium, which stores player software components including multiple streaming protocols used by the media player to play a media stream. The processor is programmed to transmit to the camera a player setup signal including data associated with the player software components. The processor is further programmed to receive from the camera a media signal associated with a media stream generated by the camera by using a common one of the streaming protocols supported by the camera and the media player.

Abstract: A first closed lane segment file including a first lane change histogram and a lane closure start point associated with a closed lane segment of a first lane of a road is received from a lane change data aggregation system at a lane change management system. The first lane change histogram includes a distribution of a plurality of lane change points received from vehicles that previously engaged in a lane change from the first lane to a second lane of the road in response to the closed lane segment. A lane change control point is determined based on the first lane change histogram at the lane change management system. A command is issued from the lane change management system to an ADS of the autonomous vehicle to initiate a lane change from the first lane to the second lane at the lane change control point.

Abstract: A method includes determining that the vehicle is approaching a garage and receiving a video from a garage camera and determining a frame difference per pixel with respect to time as the vehicle moves into the garage and counting a number of rows of pixels with no changes as the vehicle moves into the garage using the frame difference per pixel. Further, the method includes comparing the number of rows of pixels with no changes as the vehicle moves into the garage with a predetermined row threshold to determine whether the number of rows of pixels with no changes with respect to time as the vehicle moves into the garage is less than or equal to the predetermined row threshold and commanding a display to provide a notification indicative that the vehicle is properly parked in the garage.

Abstract: An automatic lane change activation system includes a host vehicle including an in-vehicle computer. A telematics module communicates global positioning system (GPS) data between the computer and the telematics module. A host vehicle display device receives signals from the computer. A visual system status is presented to a host vehicle user by the display device including an information screen presenting a roadway information message, a control screen presenting an opportunity message identifying to the user an opportunity to switch the host vehicle from a first roadway lane into a second roadway lane, and a lane change directional arrow to indicate a path for the host vehicle to take. A motion control module in the host vehicle receives control signals from the computer including a lane change execution signal to initiate and control vehicle automatic lane changes in a non-congested area of a roadway for the host vehicle.

Abstract: A system for bandwidth saving for wireless cameras using motion vectors includes wireless cameras disposed within the vehicle, and capturing input image data. A control module, having a processor, memory, and input/output (I/O) ports, executes control logic stored in memory. A first control logic receives, real-time input image data from the cameras. A second control logic processes the input image data to maintain (Wi-Fi) bandwidth utilization within the vehicle below a predetermined threshold and maintains and maximizes real-time image data streaming quality through semantic segmentation and background memorization. A third control logic generates an output including background and foreground image portions. The output is transmitted to a human-machine interface (HMI) within the vehicle and periodically replaces the background portion with a cached background scene that is transmitted to the HMI.

The lane segment is adjacent to the work zone. Determining the route path further includes determining a lane departure tolerance for the lane segment previously selected using the work-zone data. The method further includes commanding the vehicle to move within the lane departure tolerance along the lane segment previously selected.
