    摘要: It has been difficult to manufacturing a cylinder head having an EGR gas cooling structure which has high cooling performance and can be easily configured. A cylinder head having an EGR gas cooling structure is configured in such a manner that a gas passage which guides to the air intake port side a part of the exhaust gas discharged from the exhaust port is disposed within the cylinder head water jacket to cool the exhaust gas flowing through the gas passage. The gas passage comprises a cooling section which makes contact with the coolant within the cylinder head water jacket, and also comprises a hollow pipe which has high-strength sections located at side portions of the cooling section and having higher strength than the cooling section. The high-strength sections of the gas passage are molded within and surrounded by the cylinder head.

    摘要: A sample plate 3 with a sample 4 placed thereon is initially set on a stage 2, and a visual image of the sample is taken with a CCD camera 14. This image is stored in an image data memory 23. Then, an operator removes the sample plate 3, sprays a matrix for a MALDI process onto the sample 4 and replaces the plate onto the stage 2. After that, when a predetermined operation is made, a clear image of the sample taken before the application of the matrix is shown on a display unit 24. On this image, the operator specifies a point or area for the analysis. The sample 4 may have been displaced due to the removal and replacement of the plate 3. Accordingly, an image analyzer 44 calculates the direction and magnitude of the displacement, for example, by recognizing the position of the markings provided on the sample plate 3. A displacement corrector 42 computes coordinate values in which the displacement is corrected. Thus, even if a displacement occurs, the mass analysis can be accurately performed on the point or area of the actual sample as specified on the clear visual image taken before the application of the matrix.

An observation optical system 24 can be set close to the sample 15 at the observation position, without impeding the flight of the ions generated from the sample 15 during the analysis or interfering with a laser-condensing optical system 22. Thus, the spatial resolution for observation is improved without deteriorating the ion-detecting efficiency.

    摘要: When a sample plate 3 is set on a sample stage 2, an irradiation trace formation controller 22 appropriately moves the sample stage 2 and throws a short pulse of high-power laser beam to create an irradiation trace at a predetermined position on the sample plate 3. The irradiation trace has a unique shape. A microscopic image of the irradiation trace is captured and saved in an image storage section 32. After the sample plate 3 is temporarily removed from the stage 2 to apply a matrix to a sample, the sample plate 3 is re-set on the same stage 2. Then, the displacement of the sample plate 3 from its original position is calculated from the difference in the position of the irradiation trace between an image taken at that point in time and the image previously stored in the image storage section 32. Based on the calculated result, an analysis position corrector 24 modifies the position information of an area selected by an operator. Thus, the displacement of the re-set sample plate can be accurately detected. There is no need to use a special sample plate previously processed for creating a marker for displacement detection.
