Abstract: A user equipment (UE) can include processing circuitry coupled to memory. To configure the UE for New Radio (NR) unlicensed band (NR-U) communications, the processing circuitry is to decode downlink control information (DCI) received via a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH). The DCI provides allocation of uplink frequency resources of a transmission bandwidth. The allocation is a block interleaved frequency division multiple access (B-IFDMA) allocation including a plurality of interleaved physical resource blocks (PRBs) forming M number of interlaces within the transmission bandwidth, and N number of PRBs within each interlace of the M number of interlaces, with N and M being integers greater than or equal to 1. Data is encoded for transmission to a base station via a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) using the B-IFDMA allocation of uplink frequency resources.

Abstract: Technology for a user equipment (UE) to report periodic channel state information (CSI) is disclosed. The UE can generate a plurality of CSI reports for serving cells for transmission in a subframe. Each CSI report can correspond to a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) reporting type among a plurality of CSI processes having a CSI process index (CSIProcessIndex) and a serving cell index (ServCellIndex). The UE can determine different priorities corresponding to each of the plurality of PUCCH reporting types. The UE can drop CSI reports corresponding to all CSI processes except a CSI process having the lowest CSIProcessIndex. The UE can drop CSI reports corresponding to all ServCellIndexes except a CSI report with the lowest ServCellIndex. The UE can multiplex at least one non-colliding CSI report from among CSI reports that are not dropped and hybrid automatic repeat request-acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) feedback bits for transmission to an eNodeB.

Abstract: An apparatus of a user equipment (UE) comprises one or more baseband processors to generate a beam failure recovery request to be transmitted to a Fifth Generation (5G) NodeB (gNB) over a physical random access channel (PRACH), to process a response from the gNB, and to generate a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) transmission to be transmitted to the gNB using a default spatial relation comprising a same spatial filter as used for the beam failure recovery request transmission over the PRACH. A beam failure recovery request is to be transmitted to a gNB after a random access response from the gNB, wherein the beam failure recovery request is to be transmitted via Message 1 or Message 3 to the gNB, and a response is to be received from the gNB via Message 2 or Message 4.

Abstract: Embodiments of a Generation Node-B (gNB), User Equipment (UE) and methods for communication are generally described herein. The gNB may map data symbols to resource elements (REs) of virtual resource blocks (VRBs). The gNB may interleave the data symbols, on a per-VRB basis, to spatial layers of a multi-layer multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) transmission. The data symbols may be interleaved based on different interleave patterns of VRB indexes for the spatial layers. The gNB may map the interleaved data symbols of the spatial layers to REs of physical resource blocks (PRBs) for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) transmission.

Abstract: Techniques for measuring CSI (Channel State Information) based on beamformed CSI-RS having reduced overhead are discussed. One example embodiment configured to be employed in a UE (User Equipment) comprises a memory; and one or more processors configured to: process higher layer signaling indicating one or more CSI-RS resources associated with a plurality of REs (Resource Elements) comprising a RE for each CSI-RS resource for each of one or more CSI-RS APs (Antenna Ports) in each of a plurality of continuous PRBs (physical resource blocks); process additional higher layer signaling comprising one or more CSI-RS parameters that indicate a subset of the plurality of REs associated with a beamformed CSI-RS transmission; decode one or more CSI-RSs from the indicated subset; and measure one or more CSI parameters based on the decoded one or more CSI-RSs.

Abstract: Techniques for full duplex operation of base stations and/or user equipments (UEs) are discussed. One example embodiment comprises one or more processors of a UE configured to: process control messages that comprise a downlink assignment for the UE and an uplink grant for the UE during a subframe in a frequency band, wherein the downlink assignment indicates a first set of UE subarrays, and wherein the uplink grant indicates a second set of UE subarrays; process downlink data received via transceiver circuitry via the first set of UE subarrays, wherein the downlink data is received from a first base station during the subframe via the frequency band; and output uplink data to the transceiver circuitry for transmission via the second set of UE subarrays, wherein the uplink data is output for transmission to a second base station during the subframe via the frequency band.

Abstract: Devices and methods of determining offsets for different eNBs in a dynamic switched CoMP network are generally described. A UE may receive, in an RRCConnectionReconfiguration message, DL parameter sets associated with different eNBs and having reference signal information for a PSS, SSS and DRS. The UE may receive reference signals based on the DL set associated with the eNB and determine a timing/frequency offset based on the reference signals. The offsets may be used to decode a dynamically switched PDSCH indicated by a PDCCH. The DL sets may indicate which PDCCH to detect or the PDCCH from the same eNB may be used and the PDSCH determined from a DCI in the PDCCH. A UL DCI may indicate which of UL parameter sets to use. The UL sets may indicate a reference signal to determine path loss and a timing advance value.
