摘要: There is provided a plasma display device capable of high luminous efficacy and stable driving for displaying images at various image display load factors. The plasma display device performs the sustain discharge for a light-emission display, and is configured to apply a sustain pulse voltage between a sustain electrode pair in a respective one of the plural discharge cells to generate a sustain discharge in a respective one of the following operating modes selected based upon use of the plasma display device: (a) generating a pre-discharge and then a main discharge; (b) generating a main discharge without a pre-discharge preceding the main discharge; and (c) switching between the mode (a) and the mode (b). The sustain voltage waveforms are used which compensate for an increase in voltage drop due to an increase in discharge current when the image display load factor is excessively increased.

摘要: A plasma display panel has plural discharge cells between two opposing first and second substrates. Each of the discharge cells includes at least one pair of electrodes for generating a discharge for display, a discharge gas and a phosphor film for emitting visible light by being excited by ultraviolet rays produced by the discharge of the discharge gas. Laminated members are dispersed in a plane within each of the discharge cells inside the first substrate from which visible light for display is emitted, and each of the laminated members includes a light absorption layer disposed on a side of the first substrate on which ambient light is incident and a light reflection layer disposed on a phosphor-film side of the laminated members. A visible-light-reflection layer is disposed on a surface of the phosphor film on a side thereof opposite from a space in which the discharge is generated.

摘要: A plasma display panel includes plural discharge cells and a barrier rib layer which defines the discharge cells. Each discharge cells has two opposing electrodes on front and rear substrates, respectively, for generating discharge therebetween, discharge gas and phosphor films. The barrier rib layer is fabricated as a sheet separate from the substrates, is provided with openings each forming a discharge space, and is sandwiched between the substrates. The following relationships are satisfied: 0.1≦S2/S1≦0.4; 100 Torr×mm≦pd≦400 Torr×mm; and 0.2 mm≦d, where S1 is an area of a projection of a space occupied by one discharge cell onto the front substrate, S2 is an area of a portion of the front substrate for projecting light from the discharge cell, p is a pressure of the discharge gas, and d is a distance between the electrodes.

摘要: A steering wheel having partially applied wooden outer covers, which can be produced without having the wooden outer covers scratched, and the like, and can be produced with high working efficiency, and a method for manufacturing the steering wheel are provided. Raw materials, from which wood members are formed, are attached at a rim portion of a core metal, and cores are formed in this state. Thereafter, the wood members are shaped from the raw materials. Further, resin pieces are attached in spaces between the wood members and the cores to limit displacement of the wood members. Then, the cores and the resin pieces are covered with covering portions. As described above, spaces are formed, and the cores are formed in a state in which the raw materials of the wood members are attached. This allows shaping of the wood members after formation of the cores. Since the wood members can be shaped after the cores are formed, even if the wood members are scratched while the cores are formed, the scratches can be removed when the wood members are shaped.

摘要: A steering wheel which strengthens and simplifies a structure supporting a pad, to which an air bag apparatus is attached, at a cored bar. A cored bar is integrally formed with a bridge (engaging piece) formed by leg portions, which stand upright from spokes or the like, and a crossbar (pressing portion), which is bent and formed from the leg portions. A bracket for a pad, to which an air bag apparatus is attached, is mounted at the space between the boss portion of the cored bar and the crossbar. When the air bag apparatus is operated, impact force applied in a vehicle operator's direction is supported by the bridge (engaging piece) via the bracket.

摘要: A plasma processing apparatus in which power consumption is reduced, which can generate uniform plasma in a large range and in which minute processing in high etching selectivity and in high aspect ratio is enabled is disclosed. High density plasma is generated in a vacuum vessel housing a processed sample utilizing an electron cyclotron resonance phenomenon caused by an electromagnetic wave in an ultra-high frequency band and a magnetic field and the surface of the processed sample is etched using this plasma. An electromagnetic wave in an ultra-high frequency band for generating plasma is radiated from a planar conductive plate consisting of graphite or silicon which is arranged opposite to the surface of the processed sample into space inside the vacuum vessel. High density plasma in the low degree of dissociation can be generated by using an electromagnetic wave in an ultra-high frequency band and as a result, the controllability of etching reaction can be enhanced. Further, a radical effective in etching can be increased by reaction between the surface of a planar conductive plate for radiating an electromagnetic wave and plasma.
