    摘要: A voice communication system, which is connected to a LAN to which communication terminals are connected and to a public network to which telephones are connected, is provided with a communication server between the LAN and public network having different protocols from each other. The communication server enables a voice communication between a telephone on the public network and a communication terminal connected to the LAN by performing processing similar to that for a voice communication between two communication terminals connected to the LAN. The communication server determines whether an address of the other party inputted by a user is a communication terminal address or a telephone number, and transmits a voice communication request to a communication terminal of the other party when the address is a communication terminal address. When the address is a telephone number, the user acquires the communication terminal address of the communication server, and transmits a voice communication request to the communication server. Thereafter, the voice communication processing is performed through the communication server.

The address management system comprises type of communication service table and address management table which stores a number of identification information of communication destinations and types of communication services available to the communication destinations and associated communication addresses, a request acceptance unit for accepting a communication address inquiry request command, a type of communication service discrimination unit which discriminates a type of communication service which the communication application program of the communication address inquiry requestor uses, a communication address retrieval unit which searches the address management table to retrieve a communication address in accordance with identification information of the communication address inquiry request and the discriminated type of communication service, and a response unit which sends the retrieved communication address back to the communication address inquiry requestor. A proper communication address can be obtained by merely designating the terminal name of the destination terminal by the communication application program without identifying the type of communication service.

    摘要: One objective of the present invention is to determine a location for a relay terminal in a radio network, without preparatory surveying a radio status, and to arrange the relay terminal at the location. Another objective is to provide a method for retrieving the arranged relay terminal. When a relay terminal is to be arranged, the relay terminal transmits a survey packet to examine the quality of communication with a communication terminal or other relay terminal. Where a location is appropriate, the relay terminal gives a notice. The arranged terminal relays communication. Further, when the relay terminal is to be retrieved, the relay terminal carried by a user transmits a retrieval packet to the arranged relay terminal, which notifies the user of its presence by light, sounds, or returning a packet. In this manner, a single relay terminal provides functions of arrangement, relay and retrieval.

    摘要: Disclosed is a glide head for a magnetic disk that has a high sensitivity for efficiently transmitting a vibration due to a defect of a magnetic disk to piezoelectric element and the like and has high abrasion resistance and a long service life. The glide head is resiliently held at an end of a suspension arm through a flexure and has a slider, a load point of which a pressing force from the suspension arm is applied to through a pivot disposed on the flexure. The slider comprises two sliding rails that protrude from a bottom surface of the slider, extend from a leading end of the slider to a trailing end of the slider, parallel to and at a distance from each other, and have near the trailing end of the slider a rear edge that works as a sensor for detecting the defect of the magnetic disk. Each sliding rail has an upstream floating surface positioned within a region from the slider leading end to the load point and a downstream floating surface within a region from the load point to the slider trailing end so that the slider has a floating pitch angle from 140 to 380 μrad. A length of the upstream floating surface is preferably from 0.67 to 0.91 as expressed by a ratio to the total floating surface length.

    摘要: On ad hoc networks in which connection relationships among communication terminals constantly change, the processing load increases when authentication is performed each time a connection relationship changes. According to this invention, when communication terminals possess the same common key, mutual authentication is conducted with that common key, and when communication terminals do not possess the same common key, mutual authentication is conducted with a public key. Communication terminals that conducted mutual authentication exchange and retain a common key that they selected and common keys received from other communication terminals. When neither communication terminal possesses a common key at authentication, one terminal creates a common key and distributes it to the other terminal, and when one terminal has a common key it creates that common key and distributes it to the other terminal. Further, a common key possessed by a communication terminal corresponding to a relay node is broadcast periodically.
