    摘要: There is provided a process for the direct partial oxidation of methane with oxygen, whereby organic compounds comprising higher hydrocarbons including C.sub.5 + liquid hydrocarbons are produced. The catalyst used in this reaction may be a ZSM-5 catalyst. The process involves the use of an initial cofeed, such as propane, in admixture with the methane and oxygen to induce the formation of liquid hydrocarbons. As the reaction progresses, the flow of cofeed is shut off, and liquid hydrocarbons continue to be produced.

    摘要: The invention provides a method for increasing the cetane number of a low hydrogen content, highly aromatic distillate fuel by subjecting it to catalytic partial oxidation. Catalysts employed include transition metal oxides alone or in conjuction with alkali metal or alkaline earth metal compounds. Partial oxidation in accordance with the method of this invention not only results in cetane number improvement, but also allows a higher concentration of aromatic substituents in the fuel blend.

The low acid catalysts can be formed by extensive ion exchange of ZSM-5 type catalysts. The shale oil is dewaxed in the absence of hydrogen at high temperature and low pressure.

    摘要: An asphalt-containing mineral oil can be deasphalted at temperatures above about 80.degree. C. with methanol serving as the deasphalting solvent. Two liquid phases are produced, an asphalt-rich phase and a methanol-rich phase. By cooling the methanol-rich phase to a temperature below 80.degree. C., two additional liquid phases are produced, an oil-rich phase and a methanol-rich phase.

    摘要: A method is provided for controlling the operating temperature of a catalytic reactor using a closed-loop system that provides for varying the reactor input and other operating parameters in order to maintain the operating temperature of the reactor at or near the initial setpoint temperature for operation of the reactor. In one example, maximum and minimum operating temperatures with a catalytic partial oxidation reactor are controlled, as well as maintaining control over the corresponding minimum required ratio of oxygen atoms to carbon atoms, such that the operating temperature within the reactor is maintained below the material limits but above threshold temperatures for coking.
