A liquid crystal display device, and a fabricating method thereof, that is capable of providing uniform liquid cell gaps. A main seal defines a liquid crystal injection area. A first step coverage-compensating layer is provided between a substrate on which the main seal has been coated and the main seal. A plurality of dummy seals is arranged external to the main seal. A second step coverage-compensating layer having the same thickness as the first step coverage-compensating layer is provided between the substrate on which the dummy seals are arranged and the dummy seals. Accordingly, a main seal and dummy seals having the same thickness produce uniform liquid crystal cell gaps. The liquid crystal display device is beneficially made by a fabrication process employing four or five masks.

The dynamic MM cancer niche includes (a) a three-dimensional tissue construct containing a dynamic ex vivo bone marrow (BM) niche, which contains a mineralized bone-like tissue containing viable osteoblasts self-organized into cohesive multiple cell layers and an extracellular matrix secreted by the viable adherent osteoblasts; and a microenvironment dynamically perfused by nutrients and dissolved gas molecules; and (b) human myeloma cells seeded from a biospecimen composition comprising mononuclear cells and the multiple myeloma cells. The human myeloma cells are in contact with osteoblasts of the BM niche, and the viability of the human myeloma cells is maintained by the MM cancer niche.

The present invention is to provide a method for manufacturing a silicon nanowire array comprising (a) preparing a porous metal film; (b) placing the porous metal film in contact with a silicon substrate; and (c) etching the silicon substrate with a silicon etching solution. The present invention allows manufacturing vertically aligned large-area silicon nanowires by using the porous metal film as a catalyst and manufacturing nanowires having a porous structure, a porous nodular structure, an inclined structure and a zig-zag structure, which are distinguishable from nanowires of the prior art in their shape and crystallographic orientation, by adjusting etching conditions such as the composition of the silicon etching solution and the etching temperature in the step in which the silicon substrate is subjected to wet etching.

The present invention relates to a solar cell having quantum dot nanowire array and the fabrication method thereof. The solar cell according to the present invention includes quantum dot nanowire array with a heterostructure including matrix and semiconductor quantum dots, and p-type and n-type semiconductor and electrodes each contacting the quantum dot nanowires. With the solar cell according to the present invention, the band gap energy of the semiconductor quantum dot can be easily controlled, the semiconductor quantum dots having different sizes are provided in the quantum dot nanowire so that the photoelectric conversion can be performed in the wide spectrum from visible rays to infrared rays, the quantum dot is embedded in the high density quantum dot nanowire array so that light absorption can be maximized, and the quantum dot nanowire contact p-type and n-type semiconductor over a wide area, conduction efficiency of electrons and holes can be improved.
