    摘要: A disposal method of a waste optical disc is useful when a substrate material is collected from the disc. A space is created between a recording layer and a reflective layer between both of which there exists the smallest mutual adhesion by cutting a surface of a protective layer side of an optical disc. Then, the reflective layer and the protective layer are peeled off and removed from the optical disc by introducing air into the space therebetween. Then, the recorded layer remaining on a substrate layer can be removed by cutting.

    摘要: A process for manufacturing structures from worn out tires and a structural member made by that process. Sidewalls are cut from the tire leaving a circular strip, which is cut transversely to produce an elongated approximately rectangular strip. Spaced slits are cut into the long edges of the strips to form slats suitable for use in manufacturing structures. Two slats are bonded together in a face-to-face arrangement to form a unitary pair of bonded slats. Additional pairs of slats are then bonded to the first pair of slats. All slats are bonded with similar sides in contact; that is, tread side to tread side or inside to inside. The resulting beam can have adjacent corners removed to provide a parking stop configuration. Preferably, the slats are bonded with an elastomer or mechanical fasteners such as ring nails or staples. A thick elastomer, having a thickness of at least about ⅛ inch may be coated over the beam. Beams may be combined to form guard rails, walls, panels, etc.

    摘要: A tire splitting apparatus including a frame, a powered drive roll mounted on the frame for rotating a tire, a pressure roll for engaging the tire with the drive roll, and a knife for insertion into the casing while it is rotating for cutting it into halves. A guide is clampable for contact with both side walls of the tire to align and steady the tire so that the knife will cut repeatedly in the same track. A bead support carries substantially all of the weight of the tire during the splitting operation to allow repeated revolutions of the tire as necessary to complete the splitting process.

    摘要: The present disclosure relates to a size reduction apparatus such as a granulator and particularly to a novel manner of feeding such whereby thin plastic sheet material may be successfully granulated at high throughput speeds. The construction includes the use of a closed chamber mounted above the granulator chamber and having a longitudinally oriented feed slot therein, directly above which a pair of nip rolls are mounted so as to enable sheet material to be fed directly into the chamber of the granulating machine towards the rotor and in a generally radial direction thereto. The device is operated while the chamber thereof is at least partly full of partially granulated material. A baffle extending from the upstroke side of such slot is positioned so as to downwardly extend into the chamber and approaching the rotor thereof so as to deflect partially granulated material carried by the rotational movement of the rotor from contacting the newly entering sheet material so as to prevent deflection thereof away from the rotor.

    摘要: A method of shredding a web of material is provided. The web is moved by means of a stream of air provided by rotating impeller blades in a first path toward a shredder outlet. At least a part of the web is shredded in this path by stationary first shredding teeth and the shredded portion is immediately moved out of the outlet by the stream of air. The unshredded portion of the web is pulled from the first path into a second path and shredded as it moves in the second path by means of stationary second shredding teeth positioned at substantially a right angle to the first shredding teeth. Then this shredded part of the web is moved out of the shredder by means of the stream of air.Apparatus is provided for performing the above-described method. Such apparatus has an inlet duct and an outlet duct which, in part, define the first path, which is substantially vertical (to ground) and the impeller blades are positioned for rotation between these ducts and in the second path, which is circular and substantially horizontal. Each impeller blade carries a first shearing knife and third shredding teeth which cooperate with a stationary second shearing knife and the stationary first and second shredding teeth, which are mounted along an outer arcuate edge and a radial edge of the exit opening of the inlet duct, to shear and shred the web, which may be bead trim from polymeric film. A wrap guard prevents the film, or bead, from wrapping the fan shaft.
