    Abstract: A tire and beadlock clip system for assembly on a rim employs a tire of a type having an annular recess in each sidewall of the tire. As a result of the recessed sidewall structure, one or more beadlock clip can be directly engaged, after seating of the tire, between a corresponding abutment surface region, provided on the outer surface of the sidewall and oriented to face away from the rim lip, and an opposing surface of the rim, thereby opposing separation of the bead region from the bead seat. Preferably, the clips are resilient clips which can be snap-fit into engagement manually or with a mallet. Alternatively, a positive clamping mechanism may be provided.

    Abstract: A bicycle wheel rim structure is provided with a rim, a cap and a tape. The rim includes a first annular side portion, a second annular side portion and an annular bridge portion extending between the first and second annular side portions. The bridge portion has at least one opening. The cap includes a base plate and a projection. The base plate overlies an outer rim surface of the annular bridge portion. The projection extends from the base plate into the at least one opening. The tape is attached to the outer rim surface of the annular bridge portion and overlying the base plate of the cap. The tape is dimensioned to cover an interface between a peripheral edge of the base plate of the cap and the outer rim surface of the annular bridge portion.

    Abstract: A device for protecting a rim of a vehicle/conveyance such as a bicycle, a motorcycle, an automobile, etc. is provided. In general, the device includes a ring for abutting and protecting an outside edge (along an outer circumference) of a rim, and a plurality of wings for securing the ring to the rim via insertion of the wings between the rim and a tire mounted on the rim. In one embodiment, the ring and/or each wing may be made of one or more materials such as a rubberized material, a plastic material, a composite material, or any combination thereof. Moreover, each wing typically comprises a wedge shape body having a set of engagement peaks for inserting and securing the wings between the tire and the wheel (e.g., before or after the tire has been mounted on the rim).

    Abstract: A bicycle wheel includes a rim, a tire and a tire retainer. The rim has an annular bridge and a pair of annular flanges with tire retaining ridges. The annular flanges extend outward from the annular bridge to define an annular space. The tire has a pair of annular bead portions that are engaged with the tire retaining ridges of the rim, respectively. The tire retainer is disposed within the annular space. The tire retainer has a support body that is disposed between the bead portions of the bicycle tire. The support body has an axial width that is dimensioned such that the bead portions of the bicycle tire are prevented from disengaging from the tire retaining ridges of the wheel rim, respectively, while the bicycle tire is disposed in the annular space.

    Abstract: A tire assembly includes a tire having an annular tread between and connected to outer edges of opposed first and second sidewalls. The first and second sidewalls terminate at radially inner edges defining first and second bead sections, respectively. The tire also has a first interior wall having one edge coupled to the tread and an opposite free edge. The first interior wall is positioned between and generally parallel to and spaced from the first and second sidewalls. A first annular spacer is positionable adjacent the first bead section between the first sidewall and the first interior wall on one side of the first interior wall. A second annular spacer is positionable on the opposite side of the first interior wall. The first and second annular spacers are configured to generally maintain a spacing of the first and second sidewalls and the first interior wall relative to one another.
