摘要: An apparatus for cooling a vehicle engine includes: a combustion chamber in which a piston reciprocates; water jackets in which a coolant flows to cool the combustion chamber; and a cylinder block forming a framework of an engine. In particular, the cylinder block includes: a cylinder block body in which the combustion chamber is formed, and an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler mounted in the cylinder block body such that the EGR cooler is heat-exchanged with a coolant discharged from the combustion chamber. The cylinder block body is provided with an EGR cooler insertion part, to which a coolant of the combustion chamber is supplied and the EGR cooler is inserted, and the EGR cooler is provided with a gas tube in which an exhaust gas flows. The exhaust gas of the gas tube is cooled by a coolant supplied to the EGR cooler insertion part.

摘要: A first coolant flow passage is provided to extend in a longitudinal direction of a cylinder head. In at least one of cross sections perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, the first coolant flow passage is located between a flat plane including central axes of a plurality of combustion chambers and parallel to the longitudinal direction and a central line plane including central lines of a plurality of intake ports. In at least one of cross sections perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, at least a portion of a second coolant flow passage is located between the combustion chamber and the first coolant flow passage. A coolant at a temperature lower than that of a coolant flowing in the second coolant flow passage flows in the first coolant flow passage.

The engine cooler includes a cylinder block including a cylinder barrel and a water jacket, and a spacer stored in the water jacket, the water jacket surrounds the cylinder barrel, and the spacer encloses the cylinder barrel. Given that a width direction of the cylinder block is a lateral direction, a pressed member is pressed between the cylinder barrel and the spacer on lateral sides of the cylinder barrel, and a lower end of the pressed member is disposed above a lower end of each of right and left skirts of a piston located at a top dead center.

摘要: An engine assembly includes a turbocharger and a fluid conduit thermally coupled to the turbocharger such that the coolant flowing through the fluid conduit can extract heat from the turbocharger. The engine assembly further includes an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system and a second fluid conduit thermally coupled to the EGR system such that the coolant flowing through the second fluid conduit can extract heat from the EGR system. The engine assembly also includes an engine head defining a coolant gallery extending therethrough. The coolant gallery is in fluid communication with the first fluid conduit and the second fluid conduit. Further, the engine assembly includes an exhaust manifold integrated with the engine head. The coolant gallery is thermally coupled to the exhaust manifold such that the coolant flowing through the coolant gallery can extract heat from the exhaust manifold.

The block has a first fluid jacket about the liner, a second fluid jacket about the liner, and a third fluid jacket about the liner. The first, second, and third fluid jackets are fluidly independent from one another and spaced apart from one another along the cylinder axis. A method for forming the engine includes using an insert to provide each of the fluid jackets. The insert has a lost core material surrounded by a metal shell.

摘要: An engine cylinder block forms a cooling jacket adjacent to a cylinder and that intersects a deck face adapted to mate with a cylinder head. The cooling jacket has an inlet passage intersecting a mounting face adapted to mate with a coolant pump housing. The block forms a vent passage extending from the cooling jacket to the mounting face. The pump housing forms a volute adapted to receive an impeller. The housing forms a discharge passage that fluidly connects to the inlet passage of the block. The pump housing also forms a vent passage the fluidly connects with the vent passage of the block. The vent passages of the block and pump housing are positioned between the deck face of the block and the inlet and discharge passages when the pump housing is connected to the engine block.

摘要: An engine having a water jacket may include a cylinder block in which cylinder liners forming a combustion chamber may be disposed from a first end to a second end of the cylinder block, and a block water jacket may be formed around the cylinder liners, a cylinder head having a head water jacket coupled to a top of the cylinder block, receiving cooling water from an exhaust side of the block water jacket and discharging cooling water to an intake side of the block water jacket, and inserts that may be inserted into the block water jacket and that may have horizontal dividing blades dividing the block water jacket into upper and lower parts, legs extending downward from the horizontal dividing blades, and flow preventing protrusions protruding upward from the horizontal dividing blades to divide the upper part of the block water jacket.
