Abstract: A system and method for securing and verifying transmitted traffic data. A transmitter may send a transmission via a radio signal including traffic data through or from hardware installed in a traffic control cabinet adjacent an intersection or other roadway feature of interest. The transmission may be signed with a private key. A receiver associated with a vehicle may receive, in addition to the transmission, a public key (e.g., via a data network) for use in verification of the authenticity of the transmission.

Abstract: A traffic control method, a network side device and a terminal are provided. The traffic control method includes steps of: determining a matching relationship between vehicles and roads in accordance with vehicle data of all vehicles on the roads forming an intersection, and sending traffic control signals to the vehicles meeting a certain condition in accordance with the matching relationship between the vehicles and the roads. With such technical solution, it is able to control the vehicles moving toward the intersection without any traffic light control system, thereby reducing the risk of traffic accidents there.

Abstract: A haul road safety system that includes a flashing stop sign is positioned at the intersection in a standard position. A doppler radar is set up and mounted on a wig wag warning sign typically; however, it can be placed on another platform in any convenient location. When the radar detects a moving vehicle, it causes the sign's electronics to activate and the sign to illuminate and its warning lights to blink. The sign is programmed to warn of the existence of the intersection and the necessity to stop ahead. At the same time, a radio signal is sent from the radar/electronics module to the flashing stop sign at the intersection which immediately begins flashing.

Abstract: Technologies for communicating roadway information includes a plurality of roadway markers configured to propagate communications amongst each other. To do so, each roadway marker is configured to transmit communications to one or more other roadway markers. The communications may include sensor data generated by a sensor of a roadway marker. One or more roadway markers may transmit the sensor data to a roadway controller. Additionally or alternatively, the communication may include an alert message. A roadway marker may include a local alert device and be configured to activate the alert device in response to receiving an alert message. Additionally, one or more roadway markers may communicate with a roadway controller, a roadway traffic device, and/or an in-vehicle computing system of a vehicle to propagate roadway marker sensor data and/or alert messages. The roadway controller may be configured to control the roadway traffic devices, roadway makers, and/or communicate with remote computing devices.

Abstract: Traffic signal control systems and methods in accordance with various embodiments of the invention are disclosed. One embodiment includes: at least one image sensor mounted with a bird's eye view of an intersection; memory containing a traffic optimization application and classifier parameters for a plurality of classifiers, where each classifier is configured to detect a different class of object; a processing system. In addition, the traffic optimization application directs the processing system to: capture image data using the at least one image sensor; search for pedestrians and vehicles visible within the captured image data by performing a plurality of classification processes based upon the classifier parameters for each of the plurality of classifiers; determine modifications to the traffic signal phasing based upon detection of at least one of a pedestrian or a vehicle; and send traffic signal phasing instructions to a traffic controller directing modification to the traffic signal phasing.

Abstract: According to the present invention, a pedestrian is detected from an imaged image and a partial image including the pedestrian is extracted, shape information of the pedestrian acquired from the extracted partial image is accumulated and the shape information of a predetermined time before and the current shape information are compared using the accumulated shape information to detect change in the movement of the pedestrian, discontinuous movement estimating information indicating a discontinuous movement of the pedestrian that occurs following the change in the movement of the pedestrian is acquired from a storage means at the time the change in the movement of the pedestrian is detected, and a behavior of the pedestrian is predicted using the acquired discontinuous movement estimating information.

Abstract: A number of ladar sensors, visible cameras, and traffic signal lights are mounted within a traffic control zone, and a local traffic controller is provided to ensure safety and provide optimum traffic flow for vehicular and pedestrian traffic by combining the inputs from the ladar sensors and visible cameras and detecting the type of traffic, the intended path, and then controlling the signal lights dynamically. The local traffic controller also maintains a local traffic database, and communicates via duplex radio link with similarly equipped vehicles to effect an additional control capability. A regional traffic controller communicates with the local traffic controller to provide control and optimal traffic flow within a district control zone, and maintains a district traffic database.

Abstract: An abnormality detection device of an embodiment includes a traffic control center device to detect an abnormality of vehicle detectors installed in a road network, including: a first traffic management unit that collects detector information including measurement quantities from the vehicle detectors; a statistical processing unit that statistically processes the measurement quantities for each designated period to generate statistical information including statistical values of the measurement quantities; a map information generating unit that generates, based on the statistical values of the measurement quantities of the vehicle detectors that already have been determined to be abnormal by a user, map information representing a distribution situation of the statistical values of the measurement quantities in an abnormal state; and a detector state determination unit that determines, based on the measurement quantities of each vehicle detector to be assessed and the map information in the abnormal state, whether the vehicle detector is abnormal.
