Abstract:
Disclosed is a scalable, hierarchical, distributed network architecture and processes for the delivery of high-performance, end-to-end online multimedia services, including Internet services such as World Wide Web access. The network architecture connects a high-speed private backbone to multiple network access points of the Internet, to a network operation center, to a back office system, and to multiple regional servers in regional data centers. Each of the regional servers connects to several caching servers in modified head-ends, which in turn connect via fiber optics to many neighborhood nodes. Finally, each node connects via coaxial cable to multiple end-user systems. The processes include those for replicating and caching frequently-accessed content, and multicasting content customized per region or locality.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are provided for tunneling (transparently transmitting) over a packet network, from a source to a destination, the spectrum of one or more bandpass channels individually selected from a larger spectrum at the source. Each channel is selected, translated to baseband (using sampling techniques), digitized, framed, merged with other digital services, transmitted (along with associated attribute information) using packet techniques, and later reconstructed. The present invention provides a selective and efficient use of available bandwidth, in that it is not necessary to transmit the entire spectrum, when only one or few portions of the spectrum are desired. This in turn, reduces bandwidth requirements all along the transmission path and at the source and destination. The reduced bandwidth requirements have associated reductions in power and costs.
Abstract:
A system for wireless communication comprises an architecture of routers connected to a network and having connected transceivers for wireless transmission and reception of data, and a plurality of hand-held communicators adapted for users to communicate with the network through the routers. The system is adapted to provide wireless Data Network Telephony (DNT), and the hand-held communicators execute Quality of Service (QoS) code adapted to prioritize DNT packet code over all non-DNT traffic, thereby preserving the real-time nature of the DNT code.

Abstract:
This application provides a configuration error information transmission method and a device. When generating a plurality of pieces of configuration error information after configuring a batch of configuration parameter groups, a user plane network element may report the configuration error information to a control plane network element based on reporting priorities of the configuration error information. According to embodiments, reporting can be performed based on the reporting priorities of the configuration error information. In this way, a user or the control plane network element can configure, by configuring the reporting priorities, an order of precedence of the configuration error information to be reported by the user plane network element.
Abstract:
A control device can be used to control a base station, a switch, and a gateway leading to an external network. The device may communicate with a connection server connecting to a cloud computer system and with virtual functions of a control plane of the core network as instantiated in the computer system. The device may manage a database identifying for at least one terminal at least one of the virtual functions allocated to that terminal and a database associating at least one of the virtual functions with an identifier and a state of that function, and update the databases on the basis of information received from the connection server and/or from the virtual functions. The device may use one and/or the other of the databases in order to set up and/or maintain a user plane for a terminal between the base station, the switch, and the interconnection gateway.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for line control of access network applied G.hn technology thereto, and access network multiplexer (GAM), access network terminal (GNT), and access network system using the method, which includes a domain master as a collection of G.hn nodes communicating with the end-point of the access network, a switch connecting the physical layer of G.hn specification with the multiple domain masters, and a controller controlling at least one of bandwidth, output, and signal to noise ratio (SNR) offset of the signal transmitted by at least one of the domain master and the end-point.
Abstract:
A computer-implemented system and method for managing service requests are disclosed. The system includes a service provider, having a number of server devices, that provides a service response in response to a client service request. The service response includes a service instance ID associated with a server and a connection lease. A communication processing component routes a first client service request to one of the servers. Subsequent client service requests and responses are transmitted directly between the client device and the server device associated with service instance ID included in the first service response for the duration of the connection lease.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for a communication platform that includes receiving a media message request; obtaining a set of web content resources associated with the media message request; rendering the set of web content resources; converting the rendered set of web content resources into a media resource; and transmitting the media resource to a destination according to the media message request.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a primary modem-router for enabling communication between user equipment and a home network. The primary modem-router comprises an access communication unit for enabling a connection with said home network, and a wireless communication unit. The primary modem-router further comprises a line monitoring unit for monitoring connection quality of the connection with the network. The line monitoring unit provides a connection failure signal upon detection of insufficient connection quality. A processing unit of the primary modem-router is arranged for receiving the connection failure signal, and for establishing a wireless connection with a further modem-router unit upon receipt of this signal. This enables communication with the home network. The invention further provides an access node and method of enabling communication with a network.
