摘要: A system for exchanging GPS or other position data between wireless devices for purposes of group activities, child location monitoring, work group coordination, dispatching of employees etc. Cell phones and other wireless devices with GPS receivers have loaded therein a Buddy Watch application and a TalkControl application. The Buddy Watch application communicates with the GPS receiver and other wireless devices operated by buddies registered in the users phone as part of buddy groups or individually. GPS position data and historical GPS position data can be exchanged between cell phones of buddies and instant buddies such as tow truck drivers via a buddy watch server. Emergency monitoring services can be set up with notifications to programmable individuals in case an individual does not respond. Positions and tracks can be displayed. TalkControl simplifies and automates the process of joining talk groups for walkie talkie services such as that provided by Nextel.

摘要: A controller for the conference session generates a speaker signal for speakers in a conference room. The controller correlates the speaker signal with network timing information and generates speaker timing information. The controller transmits the correlated speaker signal and timing information to a mobile device participating in the conference session. The mobile device generates an echo cancelled microphone signal from a microphone of the mobile device, and transmits the echo cancelled signal back to the controller. The controller also receives array microphone signals associated with an array of microphones at known positions in the room. The controller estimates a relative location of the mobile device within the conference room. The controller dynamically selects as audio output corresponding to the mobile device location either the echo cancelled microphone signal from the mobile device or an echo cancelled array microphone signal associated with the relative location of the mobile device.

摘要: A phone number switching method and an associated apparatus are provided, where the phone number switching method may be applied to a first electronic device. For example, the phone number switching method may include the steps of: determining whether a predetermined activity corresponding to both of the first electronic device and a second electronic device occurs, to generate a determination result; and according to the determination result, selectively sending a switching request from the first electronic device to a service provider, wherein a phone number is previously associated to a first subscriber identity module (SIM) within the first electronic device by the service provider, and the switching request asks for re-associating the phone number to a second SIM within the second electronic device.

Information, at least at the venue, is provided to attendees at the venue for transmitting electronic signals to the central communication point. At least one electronic communication transmission from an attendee who has access to the central communication point is enabled to have at least part of the transmission broadcast at the venue or allow open communication from the attendee to be broadcast at the venue. The personal mobile communications device of an attendee is used as a microphone over wireless telephone networks or local wireless communication networks.

The controller is configured to: establish a direct wireless connection with the participant electronic device; process and present incoming call data received from an outside device through a speaker and/or a display device at the host electronic device; forward the incoming call data to the participant electronic device using the direct wireless connection for presentation of the incoming call data through a speaker and/or a display device at the participant device; receive participant call data from the participant electronic device using the direct wireless connection; process and present the received participant call data through a speaker and/or display device at the host electronic device; and forward the participant call data to the outside device.

摘要: In a communication arrangement in accordance with the invention, a server is employed to collect and organize information for mobile device users according to the user profiles, e.g., personal profile, business profile, vacation profile, etc., which reflect different user personae. By using this arrangement, the user advantageously maintains only the necessary information in the mobile device and downloads any additional information from the server on an as needed basis. In addition, the server is capable of serving mobile devices which may be incompatible to one another, thereby facilitating an exchange of information between such devices. Moreover, with the server, incoming messages for the user are organized and stored according to the source of the messages and the user criteria established in the user profiles. Further, information in a mobile device may be organized using electronic information cards, referred to as “E-cards,” which facilitate, among others, transfer of information from the mobile device to the server, or other mobile devices to conduct various commercial and data transactions.

摘要: A middleware device opens, based on an assistance call from a mobile device, a first leg of a websocket with a system associated with a call center customer representative, and sends a SMS text message to the mobile device that includes a first authentication token. The middleware device receives, while attempting to establish a second leg of the websocket between the first middleware device and the mobile device, a second authentication token from the mobile device, authenticates the mobile device based on the second authentication token, and opens the second leg of the websocket between the middleware device and the mobile device based on whether the authentication is successful. The middleware device receives a captured display screen from the mobile device via the second leg of the websocket, and sends the captured display screen to the system associated with the customer representative via the first leg of the websocket.
