Abstract: A steering system for a steerable flexible elongate member such as for delivering a medical device and/or system. The steering system may be configured for two-way or four-way steering. A control knob is rotatable to control steering of the steerable flexible elongate member in a first direction or a second direction within a steering plane. In a four-way steering system, a first control knob steers the steerable flexible elongate member in a first steering plane, and a second control knob steers the steerable flexible elongate member in a second steering plane transverse to the first steering plane. The steering system may be supported on a stand configured to allow rotational support of the steering system. The stand may support two steering systems in a manner allowing relative axial translation therebetween.

Abstract: A braided stent having an integral retrieval and/or repositioning loop includes a plurality of wires having first and second ends interbraided in a braided pattern to form a tubular stent having opposed atraumatic first and second open ends with each open end having a circumference; wherein said first and second wires ends are disposed at said second stent open end and said wires are looped at said second stent open end so that none of the first or second wires ends are exposed at the circumference of second stent open end; wherein at least of two of said wires are formed into a repositioning and/or retrieval loop having an elongated portion circumferentially disposed at said first opposed open end; and wherein said reposition and/or retrieval loop comprises two sections which run adjacent to each other prior to crossing to permit grabbing of both sections simultaneously by a practitioner.

Abstract: A system is for tracking includes a longitudinal element extending longitudinally from a distal tip inserted into a body to a proximal end which remains outside of the body. The element includes an IMU sensor at the tip and a series of stripes extending along the element. Data from the IMU sensor determines an angular orientation of the tip. The system also includes an exterior member positioned outside of the body. The member includes a channel extending longitudinally therethrough and a linear encoder detecting each of the stripes of the element as the element is slid through the member so that data from the encoder determines a linear displacement of the element relative to the member at a point of entry. 3D location of the tip calculated based on the determined angular orientation and the linear displacement determined at each detected stripe.

Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to intravascular imaging display systems and related methods. In an embodiment, an intravascular imaging display system is included having a control circuit and a video output circuit. The video output circuit can be configured to generate a display output including a user interface. The user interface can include graphical elements related to a vessel being imaged. The graphical elements can include a first detected feature portion at least partially defined by a first graphic indicator and a second detected feature portion at least partially defined by a second graphic indicator. The first graphic indicator can be visually distinct from the second graphic indicator. The first detected feature portion and the second detected feature portion can be assigned to represent one or more locations along a vessel wall by the control circuit based on a degree of attenuation of an ultrasound return signal crossing a threshold value.
