Abstract: A valve annulus repair system joins anchors at one or both of their proximal and distal ends to construct an implant to reshape the annulus. A removable frame may be used to position the anchors proximate to the annulus and to adjust the shape of the annulus. The frame may support the anchors during deployment of the system, release the anchors during construction of the implant, adjust the shape of the implant (and concomitantly the shape of the reconstructed valve) during an adjustment/cinching process, retain the adjusted shape of the valve annulus while relative anchor positions are secured, and release the anchors to enable the frame to be removed from the deployment site following implant construction. With such a system, a low-profile, flexile annular valve implant with reduced the risks of migration, fracture, embolism and thrombus may be provided.

Abstract: A percutaneous valve delivery system may include an outer sheath and an inner catheter disposed within the outer sheath. The inner catheter may include a plurality of lumens formed therein. A tubular extension may extend distally from a distal end of the inner catheter, wherein the tubular extension is axially movable relative to the inner catheter. A nose cone may be attached to the tubular extension. A handle may be attached to the outer sheath, wherein the handle is configured to shift the outer sheath between a first position and a second position relative to the inner catheter. A valve replacement implant may be releasably coupled to the inner catheter.

One disclosed embodiment comprises a method of facilitating treatment via a vascular wall defining a vascular lumen containing an occlusion therein. Abstract: A medical device may comprise a sheath configured to be inserted into a body lumen of a patient. A distal end of the sheath may include an elevator for changing an orientation of a medical device. A handle may include an actuator. The actuator may be operably connected to the elevator. Activation of the actuator may cause movement of the elevator. An engaging portion may, in at least one configuration of the handle, protrude from a surface of a handle body toward the actuator. A force exerted by the user on at least one of the actuator or the engaging portion may cause the handle to transition between (a) a first configuration in which the engaging portion interacts with the actuator to inhibit movement of the actuator relative to the engaging portion and (b) a second configuration in which the actuator is movable relative to the engaging portion.

Abstract: A medical instrument may include a tube, a sheath provided around and coaxial with the tube, and an inflatable balloon at a distal end of the sheath. The balloon may receive a fluid from a lumen of the sheath, and may have a central opening along a longitudinal axis thereof, and into which the tube extends, a proximal portion, a middle portion adjacent to and distal of the proximal portion, and a distal portion adjacent to and proximal of the middle portion. When the balloon is inflated with the fluid, a maximum diameter of the middle portion may be less than a maximum diameter of the proximal portion, and less than a maximum diameter of the distal portion. The medical instrument may also include an extraction member provided at a distal end of the tube, distal to the balloon, and movable axially relative to the balloon.
