Abstract:
Apparatus for remote inspection of fluid containers, e.g., portable tanks, includes an electronic circuit in communication between each container (or at various locations along a pipeline) and a remote central station. The electronic circuit is adapted to issue a signal to the remote central station that includes information about predetermined internal and/or external conditions such as the level of liquid stored in the tank, a pressure condition of material stored in the tank, a lack of presence of the tank in an installed position, or the presence of an obstruction restricting access to the tank.
Abstract:
A method of transporting natural gas by cooling and pressurizing retained natural gas to liquefy the retained natural gas within a fiber reinforced plastic pressure vessel.
Abstract:
A compressed gas storage system includes a gas tank formed for storing therein compressed gas, a gas discharge path provided in the gas tank, a solenoid valve connected to the gas discharge path and disposed in an interior of the gas tank for controlling the flow of compressed gas that goes out of the gas tank and a control unit to which the solenoid valve is connected. An outer circumferential surface of the solenoid valve is covered with a cover, so that a space defined between the cover and the outer circumferential surface is made to communicate with the gas discharge path to thereby form a gas flow path. A heat transfer fin is formed on an inner circumferential surface of the cover in such a manner as to extend radially inwardly, so as to be brought into contact with the outer circumferential surface of the solenoid valve.
Abstract:
A valve with a smart handle including a memory module to log relevant data. A sensor on the handle determines when the valve is open, and this triggers the start of timers and recording of the “open” event in a log in the memory module. When the valve is closed, the sensor triggers stopping of the timers and recording of the “closed” event in the log. The timer information is used to calculate the duration of the time “open” event, and this, together with the actual date and time of the opening and closing of the valve are recorded in the log. Other relevant information, such as cylinder fill date, cylinder I.D. number, batch number, and patient name or account number may also be logged in the memory module. The log of the events and the corresponding dates and times may be used to prepare invoices for billing gas treatments, for inventory control, and for other record-keeping and control functions.
Abstract:
A tank transport system consisting of a wheeled cart having compartments for holding tanks includes a hose compartment that stores the hoses for the tanks and other associated equipment. The hose compartment includes a flip down door that, in its open position, is disposed substantially horizontally and contains a number of storage slots for holding equipment. A hose storage rack is provided interior of the hose storage compartment for storing the hoses in a wound state. A number of storage areas are also included within the compartment including a bin formed within the hose rack. A pivotable handle is provided that is used to roll the cart on the wheels. Other storage compartments may also be provided external to the hose compartment.
Abstract:
A tank jacket fits over the outside of a storage tank. The jacket includes a hole for receiving the regulator assembly. The tank jacket supports a hose support assembly for storing the supply hose and a plurality of pockets for retaining various accessories and tools. A gauge protector fits over the regulator assembly and includes a first housing section defining a first cavity for receiving the regulator and a second housing section defining a second cavity for receiving the pressure gauge. A handle is formed on the gauge protector to facilitate carrying of the tank. The gauge protector and tank jacket protect the tank and regulator assembly and provide a system for transporting the tank and related equipment.
Abstract:
Substantially rectangular-shaped tanks are provided for storing liquefied gas, which tanks are especially adapted for use on land or in combination with bottom-supported offshore structure such as gravity-based structures (GBS). A tank according to this invention is capable of storing fluids at substantially atmospheric pressure and has a plate cover adapted to contain fluids and to transfer local loads caused by contact of said plate cover with said contained fluids to a grillage of stiffeners and stringers, which in turn is adapted to transfer the local loads to an internal truss frame structure. Methods of constructing these tanks are also provided.
Abstract:
A portable pressurized gas delivery system with impact protection includes a pressure regulator device comprised of a shut-off valve/refill portion, a pressure regulation portion and a flow control portion. The pressure regulator device is attached via a mating machine threaded portion to a high pressure gas vessel or tank. An adapter or flange washer is situated between the regulator device and tank. A u-shaped handle is attached to the flange washer and extends along side and beyond the height of the gas pressure regulator. A circular ring is transversely attached to the u-shaped handle and situated to surround the regulator device thereby providing impact protection from all directions for the gas pressure regulator device. The pressure regulator device and flange washer include mechanical alignment mechanisms so that angular alignment of the devices is established.
Abstract:
A pressure vessel is disclosed which includes a lower metallic dome having a lower rim portion, and an upper metallic dome having an upper rim portion, a plastic liner disposed within the upper and lower metallic domes, a metallic band disposed between the plastic liner and the upper and lower metallic domes proximate the respective rim portions thereof, and an insulating material disposed between the metallic band and the plastic liner, the metallic band and insulating material protecting the plastic liner from elevated temperatures when the upper and lower rim portions of the metallic domes are welded together. A method of fabricating the pressure vessel and a connector for assembling the pressure vessel are also disclosed.
Abstract:
Safe filling is provided by a housing (8) controlling the pump (6) of the mobile tank (1) receiving, via a secondary hose (10), the pressure prevailing in the container (2) to be filled, a programmable logic enabling the pump to operate when the pressure measured in the container is within a predetermined range, adaptable according to the type of container. The invention is applicable in particular to gas containers.
