Abstract:
Methods, compositions and articles of manufacture involving cationic conjugated conformationally flexible polymers are provided. A method for the synthesis of cationic water-soluble polymers with linkages along the polymer main chain structure which disrupt the ability of the polymers to form extended-rod structures is provided. Such polymers may serve in the fabrication of novel optoelectronic devices and in the development of highly efficient biosensors. The invention further relates to the application of these polymers in assay methods.
Abstract:
Systems, apparatuses, and methods are described for performing fast segmentation of an image. In embodiments, an image may be segmented by generating a background mask, generating an edge mask, dilating the edge mask, and refining that edge mask by applying refinement operations that remove edge pixels from the edge mask. In embodiments, the refined edge mask may be used to generate a foreground mask.
Abstract:
Disclosed are embodiments of systems and methods to stitch two or more images together into a composite image. By finding matching point pairs for a pair of images, a homography transform may be obtained for the pair of images. The homography transform may be used to generate a composite image of the image pair. In an embodiment, the process of identifying a homography transform may be iterated. In an embodiment, when forming the composite image, the transformed foreground regions may be selected such that there is no intersection of foreground pixel regions. In an embodiment, foreground pixel regions on the border of an image may be removed. The resulting composite image is a larger image generated from the selected regions from the input images. In embodiments, the process may be repeated for sets of images with more than two images.
Abstract:
A display support device includes a connecting member and a lower tube. The connecting member is adapted to be mounted on a rear surface of a flat display, and includes an upper tube. The lower tube is disposed below the upper tube. One of the upper and lower tubes has an internally threaded portion, and the other of the upper and lower tubes has an externally threaded portion engaging the internally threaded portion to allow for rotation and therefore movement of the lower tube relative to the upper tube, which results in a change to the total length of the upper and lower tubes.
Abstract:
A shock-absorbing wheel mounting structure used in a horizontal jack is disclosed. The wheel mounting structure includes an axial sleeve (4) affixed to a rear wheel mount (5) of the horizontal jack (100), and a shaft (2), vertically slideably mounted in the axial sleeve (4) and riveted to a bracket (1). The bracket (1) supports a wheel (71). A compression spring (3) is sleeved onto the shaft (2) and stopped between a stop flange around the periphery of the shaft (2) and the top wall of the axial sleeve (4). This arrangement serves to impart a downward pressure to the shaft (2) relative to the axial sleeve (4).
Abstract:
The invention relates to methods, articles and compositions for the detection and analysis of biomolecules in a sample. Provided assays include those determining the presence of a target biomolecule in a sample or its relative amount, or the assays may be quantitative or semi-quantitative. The methods can be performed in an array format on a substrate.
Abstract:
The present invention provides certain imidazole carboxamide derivatives, pharmaceutical compositions thereof, methods of using the same and processes for preparing the same.
Abstract:
This invention relates to an aggregation sensor useful for the detection and analysis of aggregants in a sample, and methods, articles and compositions relating to such a sensor. The sensor comprises first and second optically active units, where energy may be transferred from an excited state of the first optically active unit to the second optically active unit. The second optically active unit is present in a lesser amount, but its relative concentration is increased upon aggregation, increasing its absorption of energy from the first optically active units. This increase in energy transfer can be detected in variety of formats to produce an aggregation sensing system for various aggregants, including for quantitation. Other variations of the inventions are described further herein.
Abstract:
Urea containing compounds that inhibit MAP kinases, pharmaceutical compositions including such compounds and methods for using these compounds to treat inflammatory diseases and cancer are described herein.
