Abstract:
A keyboard type input device has multiple key positions provided as character entry keys. Each key corresponds to one key in the selected row of the conventional QWERTY keyboard. A second set of control buttons provide for the selection of which row of a conventional QWERTY keyboard are represented by the character keys in addition to other functions such as case shift, and alpha-numerical control functions. A selected row is shown on a display, as visual feedback. Alternatively the keys are implemented as LCDs with pressure sensors and the characters of the selected row are displayed directly on the corresponding key positions. The keyboard finds particular use in portable devices as it demands less space than traditional keyboards. The keyboard type input device is implemented with various electronic appliances, including portable phones.
Abstract:
For non-bursty data writes, data is written to flash memory of a hard disk drive for subsequent de-staging to disk, whereas for bursty writes data is written directly to disk.
Abstract:
A wireless remote control circuit with dual processing units and a method is provided, which includes a signal receiving unit, a first and a second processing unit. The first processing unit is connected to the signal receiving unit and switches between an activation mode and a sleep mode at a predefined time. The second processing unit is connected to the first processing unit and is preset in the sleep mode. The first processing unit provides a voltage to activate the signal receiving unit during the activation mode, and transmits a resume signal after obtaining a control signal. Then, the second processing unit enters an activation mode after it receives the resume signal, and enters the sleep mode again after its internal logic circuit completes its operation, so as to reduce the complexity of using a single processing unit to design a circuit and avoid huge power consumption of the circuit.
Abstract:
An infrared thermometer includes a thermal conductor and a thermal adjuster to conduct suitable thermal flux into the sensor unit. A thermal conductive bushing is also mounted under the bottom of the sensor unit and touching the thermal conductor. The thermal fluxes conducting to the upper portion and the lower portion of the sensor unit are thus balanced suitably and quickly to remove the thermal noise and help the thermometer maintaining precise measurements from infrared radiation of the target.
Abstract:
A vehicle includes vehicle body having a front body and a rear body, a front receptacle mounted on the front body, a rear receptacle mounted on the rear body, and two energized plates mounted on the front receptacle and inserted into the rear receptacle when the rear body is combined with the front body so that the rear receptacle is electrically connected to the front receptacle to form an electrical connection between the front body and the rear body. Thus, when the rear body is combined with the front body, the front body and the rear body form an electrical connection synchronously, so that the electric power of the vehicle is conducted easily and rapidly.
Abstract:
An infinitely variable angle adjusting device for a handlebar of a motorized vehicle includes a fixing seat, a handlebar stem, a pull handle, an adjusting base, a cover, two sockets, two slides, a compression spring, two urging ball units, a shaft, two press members, and a pull wire. Thus, the adjusting base is movable on the shaft freely, so that the handlebar stem is pivoted relative to the fixing seat, so as to adjust the included angle between the handlebar stem and the fixing seat arbitrarily, so that the inclined angle of the handlebar on the handlebar stem can be adjusted easily and arbitrarily.
Abstract:
This invention provides a catalytic process for converting to BTX a C.sub.9 + monocyclic aromatic hydrocarbon feed having a prescribed content of alkyl groups with more than one carbon atom. It further provides a process wherein said conversion is coupled with a catalytic xylene isomerization unit. The catalyst used in the process is a steamed composite comprising platinum and a crystalline zeolite such as ZSM-5.
Abstract:
The liquid carrier in a Fischer-Tropsch synthesis slurry reactor system is periodically or continually separated and subjected to cracking and isomerization in the presence of suitable catalysts. The treated carrier is returned to the reactor system and the accumulation of high viscosity paraffin in the reactor slurry is minimized. Suitable catalysts include a mixture of cracking and isomerization catalysts.
Abstract:
This invention discloses an apparatus capable of controlling, tracking and measuring the tightening torque and the locking force and a method thereof. The device comprises a control device, a transducing device, and a sensing device. The transducing device comprises a second connector and a first signal transmitter. The control device communicates with the transducing device through a second signal transmitter and the first signal transmitter wiredly or wirelessly. The sensing device comprises a first connector and a sensor, and electrically connects to the transducing device through the second connector and the first connector. The sensing device senses the torque applied to a fastener to transmit real-time sensing data to the control device. The control device compares the real-time sensing data with a setting value so as to measure, control or track the locking force or tightening torque applied to the fastener in real time.
Abstract:
A data storage device accepts queued read and write commands that have deadlines. The queued read and write commands are requests to access the data storage device. The deadlines of the queued read and write commands can be advisory deadlines or mandatory deadlines.
