    摘要: A gas sensor includes an internal space, diffusion control part, pumping cell, and measuring cell. The diffusion control part communicates with the internal space and has a slit-like shape with a smaller thickness than that of the internal space. The pumping cell pumps out oxygen from the internal space when voltage is applied between a first electrode formed on a surface of the internal space and a second electrode formed outside the internal space. The measuring cell measures a current flowing between a third and fourth electrodes when a voltage is applied between the third and fourth electrodes. The third electrode is formed in the diffusion control part, and can reduce an oxide gas component in a predetermined gas component to which a predetermined diffusion resistance has been applied by the diffusion control part. The fourth electrode is formed in a part different from the diffusion control part.

    摘要: A surface plasmon resonance measuring apparatus is provided with a dielectric block, a metal film formed on a surface of the dielectric block, a light source for emitting a light beam, an optical system for making the light beam enter the dielectric block at various angles of incidence so that a condition for total internal reflection is satisfied at an interface between the dielectric block and the thin film layer, and a photodetector for detecting the intensity of the light beam satisfying total internal reflection at the interface. In the measurement chip to be utilized in the surface plasmon resonance measuring apparatus, the dielectric block is formed from a synthetic resin in which, when said light beam is p-polarized outside said dielectric block and then strikes the interface, the intensity of a s-polarized component at the interface is 50% or less of the intensity of the light beam at the interface.

    摘要: In the magnetic head, terminal sections for mutually electrically connecting layers in the multilayer structure can be formed without forming raising layers. The magnetic head having a multilayer structure comprises: an upper shielding layer; a lower shielding layer; a magnetoresistance effect element section provided between the shielding layers; a magnetic pole; terminal sections mutually electrically connecting layers of the multilayer structure; and a first low-thermal expansion material layer composed of an insulating material, and each of the terminal sections has a multilayer structure comprising: a second low-thermal expansion material layer composed of a material which is the same as that of the first low-thermal expansion material layer; and a plurality of electrically conductive layers.
