Abstract: An integrated vehicle on-board system configured to generate hydrogen and to introduce the generated hydrogen into an exhaust gas stream of an internal combustion engine, the system including a water-splitting article configured to split water into hydrogen and oxygen and a hydrogen injection article configured to introduce the hydrogen into the exhaust gas stream, is effective for the abatement of carbon monoxide and/or hydrocarbons and/or nitrogen oxides. The introduction of hydrogen may be intermittent and/or during a cold-start period.

Abstract: The present invention provides a catalyst composition comprising at least one platinum group metal; and at least one complex metal oxide wherein the at least one platinum group metal is supported on the at least complex metal oxide, wherein the complex metal oxide comprises ceria (calculated as CeO2) in an amount of about 50 to about 99 wt. %, based on the total weight of the complex metal oxide; and zirconia (calculated as ZrO2) in an amount of about 1.0 to about 50 wt. %, based on the total weight the complex metal oxide. The present invention also provides a catalytic article made from said catalyst composition, its preparation and use for the treatment of the exhaust gases.

Abstract: The present invention relates a system for the treatment of an exhaust gas of a diesel combustion engine, said system comprising a specific NOx adsorber component, a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) component, a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) component, a gas heating component, and a reductant injector, wherein in said system, the specific NOx adsorber component is arranged upstream of the gas heating component, the reductant injector is arranged up-stream of the SCR component, the gas heating component is arranged upstream of the reductant injector, the DOC component is arranged upstream of the reductant injector, and the DOC component and the gas heating component are directly consecutive components. Further, the present invention relates a process for preparing such a system and use thereof.

Abstract: Provided herein is a catalytic article including a catalytic coating disposed on a substrate, wherein the catalytic coating comprises a bottom coating on the substrate and a top coating layer on the bottom coating layer, one such coating layer containing a platinum group metal on a refractory metal oxide support and the other such coating layer containing a ceria-containing molecular sieve. Such catalytic articles are effective toward treating exhaust gas streams of internal combustion engines and exhibit outstanding resistance to sulfur.

Abstract: An oxidation catalyst composite for abatement of exhaust gas emissions from a lean burn engine is provided, the catalyst composite including a carrier substrate having a length, an inlet end and an outlet end, and an oxidation catalyst material coated on the carrier substrate. The oxidation catalyst material can include a first layer and a second layer. The first layer can include a first oxygen storage component that includes ceria and is impregnated with a palladium (Pd) component and a second component including one or more of magnesium (Mg), rhodium (Rh), and platinum (Pt). The second layer can include a refractory metal oxide component impregnated with platinum (Pt) and palladium (Pd), wherein the ratio of Pt to Pd is in the range of about 0:10 to about 10:0.

Abstract: An oxidation catalyst composite, methods, and systems for the treatment of exhaust gas emissions from a diesel engine are described. More particularly, described is an oxidation catalyst composite including a first oxidation component comprising a first refractory metal oxide support, palladium (Pd) and platinum (Pt); a NOx storage component comprising one or more of alumina, silica, titania, ceria, or manganese; and a second oxidation component comprising a second refractory metal oxide, a zeolite, and Pt. The oxidation catalyst composite is sulfur tolerant, adsorbs NOx and thermally releases the stored NOx at temperature less than 350° C.

Abstract: The disclosure provides a monolithic wall-flow filter catalytic article including a substrate having an aspect ratio of from about 1 to about 20, and having a functional coating composition disposed on the substrate, the functional coating composition including a first sorbent composition, an oxidation catalyst composition, and optionally, a second sorbent composition. The monolithic wall-flow filter catalytic article may be in a close-coupled position close to the engine. The disclosure further provides an integrated exhaust gas treatment system including the monolithic wall-flow filter catalytic article and may additionally include a flow-through monolith catalytic article. The flow-through monolith catalytic article includes a substrate having a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) coating composition disposed thereon. The integrated exhaust gas treatment system simplifies the traditional four-article system into a two-article Catalyzed Soot Filter (CSF) plus Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) CSF+SCR arrangement.
