Abstract: An engine having a low pressure EGR system includes: an intake line suctioning outdoor air and transferring the outdoor air to a combustion chamber; a turbocharger actuated by exhaust gas which flows in an exhaust line to compress gas which flows in the intake line; a supercharger installed at a downstream side of the turbocharger; a low pressure EGR line branched at one side of the exhaust line and joined to an upstream side of the turbocharger to recirculate the exhaust gas; a recirculation line branched on the intake line at a downstream side of the supercharger and joined to the intake line at an upstream side of a point where the low EGR line and the intake line meet; and a control unit controlling the actuation of the supercharger. The control unit actuates the supercharger in the case of a coasting driving condition.

Abstract: An engine having a turbocharger may include an intake route control valve disposed on a first intake line that supplies outside air to an intake manifold, a second intake line bypassing the intake route control valve, a first exhaust line in which exhaust gas from an exhaust manifold flows, a second exhaust line bypassing an exhaust route control valve disposed on the first exhaust line to join the first exhaust line, a turbocharger operated by exhaust gas in the second exhaust line to compress intake air in the second intake line, and a first catalyst unit disposed at a downstream side of the exhaust route control valve on the first exhaust line. The first catalyst unit may include a first brick disposed at an upstream side and a second brick disposed at a downstream side of the first brick with a predetermined distance, and the second exhaust line joins the first exhaust line at a portion between the first brick and the second brick.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for controlling a hybrid vehicle are provided. The apparatus includes an engine that generates power by combusting fuel and a drive motor that supplements the power from the engine and operates selectively as an electric generator to produce electrical energy. A clutch is disposed between the engine and the drive motor and a battery supplies electrical energy to the drive motor and is charged with the electrical energy produced by the drive motor. Multiple electric superchargers are installed in multiple intake lines through which outside air to be supplied into a combustion chamber of the engine flows. A controller determines an operation mode of the multiple electric superchargers based on required power of a driver and a state of charge (SOC) of the battery and adjusts the power output from the engine and the power output from the drive motor.

Abstract: An apparatus of controlling a vehicle and a method thereof are provided. The operating region of an engine is operated with theoretical air-fuel ratio. The apparatus includes a supercharger that supplies compressed air to a the combustion chamber of the engine and a spark plug that ignites mixed air supplied to the combustion chamber. An intake valve selectively opens and closes the combustion chamber for inflowing the mixed air therein. A variable valve apparatus adjusts an opening timing and closing timing of the intake valve and a controller adjusts an ignition timing of the spark plug and the closing timing of the intake valve through the variable valve apparatus based on the operating region of the engine.

Abstract: A control valve of a multi-supercharger system is provided. The control valve includes a first spool rotatably fitted in a valve body and a second spool fitted in the valve body to be coaxially rotatable together with the first spool. A disk member is installed in the valve body to partition a first chamber, in which the first spool is disposed, and a second chamber, in which the second spool is disposed, from each other. A portion of the disk member includes a communication sector, through which the first chamber and the second chamber communicate with each other. A first inlet and a first outlet are disposed in the valve body and a second inlet and a second outlet are disposed in the valve body. A first valve aperture is formed in the first spool for allowing the first spool to communicate with the communication sector.
