摘要: A turbocharged engine system with electric compressor arranged to inject a compressed fluid into the exhaust subsystem upstream of the turbine of the turbocharger such that, in use, the compressed fluid injected by the electric compressor into the exhaust subsystem maintains the speed of or accelerates the turbine, thereby maintaining or increasing the boost pressure supplied to the turbocharged internal combustion engine. A method of controlling the boost pressure supplied to an internal combustion engine by a turbocharger, said method comprising the steps of: producing a stream of compressed fluid; injecting the stream of compressed fluid into an exhaust stream of the internal combustion engine to produce a pressure-boosted exhaust stream; and controlling the speed of a turbine of the turbocharger using the pressure-boosted exhaust stream to control the boost pressure supplied to the internal combustion engine

摘要: A drive system may include an internal combustion engine and an expander operated via a working medium. A force transmission device may be disposed between a crankcase and the expander. A first seal may be disposed between the expander and the force transmission device and/or a second seal may be disposed between the force transmission device and the crankcase. A crankcase ventilation line may lead from the crankcase into an intake pipe of the internal combustion engine. An air mass sensor may be disposed in the intake pipe. An engine control unit may be in communication with the air mass sensor, the expander, and the internal combustion engine and may be configured to detect a power of the internal combustion engine and an air mass flow of the air mass sensor and may switch off the expander if a power suddenly rises with the air mass flow remaining constant.

摘要: An engine having a low pressure EGR system includes: an intake line suctioning outdoor air and transferring the outdoor air to a combustion chamber; a turbocharger actuated by exhaust gas which flows in an exhaust line to compress gas which flows in the intake line; a supercharger installed at a downstream side of the turbocharger; a low pressure EGR line branched at one side of the exhaust line and joined to an upstream side of the turbocharger to recirculate the exhaust gas; a recirculation line branched on the intake line at a downstream side of the supercharger and joined to the intake line at an upstream side of a point where the low EGR line and the intake line meet; and a control unit controlling the actuation of the supercharger. The control unit actuates the supercharger in the case of a coasting driving condition.

The intake air may be directed via an EGR passage by opening an EGR valve or by may be directed via engine cylinders by increasing positive valve overlap. Amounts of air directed via external EGR and air directed via positive valve overlap are based on engine operating conditions.

The tank is in fluid communication with the manifold conduit and is arranged to push compressed gas into the manifold conduit during a predetermined pulse duration time period for initial compressor spin up in the turbocharger.

摘要: An engine system comprising an accelerator device which is operable to increase the amount of fuel delivered to the engine for combustion; an exhaust gas recirculation system for removing exhaust gas from the engine and recirculating a portion of the exhaust gas to the engine; and an oxygen delivery apparatus adapted to deliver oxygen to the engine in response to operation of the accelerator device. Using this system, performance losses from EGR can be abated by introducing compensatory oxygen.

摘要: A turbomachine assembly generally has a compressor section including a first end of a rotating member and a first cover configured to substantially enclose the first end therein. The compressor section includes a bypass valve coupled to the first cover portion and configured to control fluid flow within the compressor section to enable controlling at least one operating parameter of the compressor section. A turbine section is arranged in flow communication with the compressor section. The turbine section includes a second end of the rotating member and a second cover configured to substantially enclose the second end therein. At least one regulating valve that is in flow communication with the compressor section and the turbine section, wherein the regulating valve is configured to control fluid flow between the compressor and turbine sections to enable controlling at least one operating parameter of the turbine section.
