    摘要: A photocatalytic material having titanium oxide crystals and anions X incorporated therein, which is prepared by at least one of a method comprising substituting anions X for some of the oxygen sites of titanium oxide crystals, a method comprising doping anions X between lattices of a titanium crystal and a method comprising doping grain boundaries of titanium oxide, or a combination of these method. The photocatalytic material has acquired a new energy level formed in a band gap of titanium oxide, which results in its exhibition of a photocatalytic activity by absorbing visible lights. The photocatalytic material can thus exhibit a satisfactory photocatalytic activity under sunlight and also in a room with a fluorescent lamp.

    摘要: A micro-optical resonator type organic electroluminescent device utilizing an organic electroluminescent material high in emission efficiency but broad in emission spectrum width, has a narrow half bandwidth in the emission peak and a superior forward directivity and an excellent monochromaticity in light not separate into components, wherein a micro-optical resonator is formed by a multi-layered mirror and a metal mirror. The optical length of the micro-optical resonator, calculated from the total thickness and the refractive index of a transparent conductive layer and a luminous layer placed between the multi-layered mirror and the metal mirror and also from the light penetration depth into the multi-layered mirror, is 1.5 times the wavelength of a desired light emitted from the device, and the desired light is set on the short wavelength side of the emission spectrum of the electroluminescent material.

    摘要: A tantalum oxide dielectric film includes tantalum oxide (Ta.sub.2 O.sub.5) as a major component, and at least one oxide selected from the group consisting of yttrium oxide (Y.sub.2 O.sub.3), tungsten oxide (WO.sub.3) and niobium oxide (Nb.sub.2 O.sub.5). This dielectric film exhibits a remarkably improved dielectric constant and insulation property because it is a composite oxide film in which Ta.sub.2 O.sub.5 is compounded with Y.sub.2 O.sub.3, WO.sub.3 or Nb.sub.2 O.sub.5. For example, when the dielectric film is used as a capacitor film, the capacitor film exhibits a figure of merit, i.e., a product of a dielectric constant and an insulation property, approximately twice the silicon oxide (SiO.sub.2) film which is used widely for the purpose at present.

    摘要: A heat wave shielding lamination consisting of at least two In.sub.2 O.sub.3 shield layers containing different amounts of Sn is provided on the surface of a glass substrate to provide shielding against heat waves without causing heat wave pollution in the surrounding environment. The amount of tin contained in the respective layers increases with increasing proximity to the substrate. The heat wave shielding has good transmittance to visible light and good shielding effect against rays in the infrared spectrum by virtue of the fact that the shield layers containing different amounts of Sn exhibit maximum infrared absorption at different wavelengths to give high infrared ray absorption over a wide wavelength range. It also suppresses the reflection of heat waves into the surrounding environment since each shield layer of the lamination absorbs the infrared rays reflected by Drude reflection from any shield layer containing more Sn than itself.
