摘要: There is provided a program reservation recording device capable of reducing load on a server and performing program recording as is reserved by a user. Immediately before the reserved program is started and immediately before the end of it (S1), the program reservation recording device makes a request to an information providing server connected via a general-purpose network so as to acquire the latest program list (S2). The program reservation recording device compares the reservation information indicating the program reservation contents (start time, end time, etc.) to be stored in a memory with the latest program list acquired (S3). If any mismatch is present, the reservation information is updated according to the program list (S4).

摘要: An information recording medium is provided that includes a recording portion (3), which is irradiated with a recording light or a reproducing light so that information is recorded or reproduced thereto or therefrom. The recording portion (3) contains a first phosphor and a photon-mode photosensitive material. The first phosphor has a property of absorbing a first light having a wavelength of λ1/n and then emitting a second light having a wavelength longer than that of the first light, where λ1 is a wavelength of the recording light. The photosensitive material absorbs the second light and then exhibits a change in an optical constant thereof. A n-photon absorption sensitivity of the first phosphor with respect to the recording light is greater than a n-photon absorption sensitivity of the photosensitive material with respect to the recording light, where n is an integer not less than 2.

摘要: An optical fiber radio transmission system is provided which is capable of considerably improving the received dynamic range of radio signals and, in addition, is capable of optically transmitting radio signals while preventing the deterioration of transmission performance and the loss of linearity of an input signal more easily. A received level detection section 111 detects which one of predetermined levels, i.e., Level I, Level II, and Level III, the received level of a radio signal received by an antenna 400 falls under. A signal control section 112 performs an amplification/attenuation process on the radio signal in accordance with the detected level. A control information sending section 113 superimposes control information indicating the detected level on a primary signal obtained after the amplification/attenuation process. This signal is converted to an optical signal and transmitted. An optical to electrical conversion section 211 converts the optical signal received from a transmitting unit to an electrical signal. A control information extraction section 212 extracts the level from the control information, which has been superimposed on the primary signal. A signal control section 213 performs an amplification/attenuation process on the primary signal in accordance with the extracted level.

摘要: An improved rocker panel on side sill construction includes a substantially planar horizontal top portion, a side portion with a substantially convex show surface and a substantially concave hidden surface opposite the show surface, and a clip house mounting structure disposed on the hidden surface. The improvement consists of joining the clip house to the rocker panel or side sill at the juncture formed between the top show surface and side show surface of the part. Preferably, this joint comprises at least one hollow channel surrounded by a reinforcing rib connecting to the hidden surface proximate the juncture of the top portion with the side portion and connecting the clip house mounting structure to this rib. The channel and reinforcing rib may run substantially longitudinally the length of the rocker panel. The channel and reinforcing rib inhibiting sagging in the top portion of the part between adjacent clip house mounting structures. The rocker panel or side sill may be made by gas-assisted injection molding wherein a mold including a mold cavity having the desired final shape, including one or more channel cavities, is provided. A predetermined amount of thermoplastic material is then injected into the mold cavity. Gas is injected into the one or more channel cavities at a predetermined pressure. The thermoplastic material is then allowed to set while the gas pressure is maintained.

摘要: The invention presents an optical element with which an optical head can be configured, in which there is little deterioration of the correctional effect when the objective lens shifts, as well as an optical head and an optical recording/reproducing apparatus using such an optical element. The invention also presents a novel optical recording/reproducing apparatus and optical recording/reproducing method. The optical element, includes a first voltage application electrode 13, a first opposing electrode 17 arranged in opposition to the first voltage application electrode 13, and a first phase changing layer 15 arranged between the first voltage application electrode 13 and the first opposing electrode 17. By changing a voltage between the first voltage application electrode 13 and the first opposing electrode 17, a phase that converts plane waves into spherical waves is imparted on light that is incident on the first phase changing layer 15.

摘要: An objective of the present invention is to provide efficient methods for producing (R)-2-chloromandelamide with high optical purity. Another objective of the present invention is to provide novel methods for producing α-ketoamide reductases that reduce 2-chlorobenzoyl formamide to (R)-2-chloromandelamide with high optical purity, using NADPH as the coenzyme. An enzyme exhibiting high stereoselectivity was purified from a number of Saccharomyces cerevisiae enzymes with 2-chlorobenzoyl formamide-reducing activity, and the biochemical properties of the purified enzyme were analyzed. The analysis of a partial internal amino acid sequence of the purified enzyme revealed that the enzyme may be encoded by the putative open reading frame (ORF) YDL124w reported in the genome analysis. YDL124w was cloned and expressed in E. coli, and was subsequently shown to encode the α-ketoamide reductase. It was found that these resulting transformants facilitated the production of (R)-2-chloromandelamide from 2-chlorobenzoyl formamide.

The optical recording medium includes a recording layer containing information and a mask layer that is located close to the recording layer and includes a nonlinear optical material whose optical properties are changed in accordance with incident light intensity. The method includes irradiating the optical recording medium with convergent light that is polarized in a first direction and dividing reflected light from the optical recording medium into a first polarized component that is polarized in the first direction and a second polarized component that is polarized in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. The second polarized component is used to detect a reproduction signal.
