摘要: In an image-wise exposure apparatus, a mirror array device includes a plurality of small mirrors which are two-dimensionally arrayed and are movable between ON-positions where each of the small mirrors reflects light impinging thereupon along an operative optical path so that the reflected light impinges upon a photosensitive material and OFF-positions where each of the small mirrors reflects light impinging thereupon along an inoperative optical path so that the reflected light does not impinge upon the photosensitive material. An initializing image signal which intends to cause all the small mirrors of the mirror array device to be set in the respective OFF-positions is input into the mirror array device, and an initial amount of light on the operative optical path at the time the initializing image signal is input into the control circuit is measured. Then a series of checking image signals which intend to cause the small mirrors to be set in the respective ON-positions one by one are input into the mirror array device in sequence. When the amount of light on the operative optical path is held substantially equal to the initial amount of the light upon input of a checking image signal, a small mirror corresponding to the checking image signal is identified as a defective one.

摘要: A photographic printer has an exposure station, in which a frame of a photographic film and color photographic paper are set. A light source is disposed in opposition to the color paper with reference to the photographic film set in the exposure station, and constituted by LED elements. The LED elements are disposed in a matrix for emitting light of red, green and blue colors. The light source illuminates the frame from behind. The color paper is exposed by the light transmitted through the frame, to print the frame recorded on the photographic film to the color paper. In a preferred embodiment, a drive signal is determined individually for driving respective the LED elements. The drive signal is applied to the respective LED elements.

摘要: A pick-up head for use with an optical information storage disk includes an optical waveguide, a light source, a waveguide lens, a focusing grating coupler, and a light detector. Wave light generated by the light source and propagated via the wave guide lens through the optical waveguide is deflected by a surface elastic wave generated by an inter-digital transducer. The inter-digital transducer is controlled by a tracking error signal to vary the frequency of the surface elastic wave to change the deflection angle of the wave light in order to eliminate any tracking error to which a light spot on the optical disk is subjected. Focusing control may be effected by a conventional focusing control mechanism or a bimorph driven by a focusing error signal.

摘要: An imaging apparatus includes a light source unit that selectively outputs white light and light in a different wavelength band to an observation target, an imaging unit including an imaging device, and a spectral image formation circuit that generates a spectral image signal for a specified wavelength by an operation using an image signal based on an output from the imaging unit and predetermined matrix data. The imaging unit selectively obtains an image of the observation target for each of first, second and third light components in a visible light region and an image for each of at least fourth and fifth light components in a near-infrared region. Further, the imaging unit includes first spectral devices that make only the first and fourth light components enter first pixels of the imaging device and second spectral devices that make only the second and fifth light components enter second pixels thereof.

摘要: The method and apparatus make a printing plate such as a lithographic printing plate by exposing an original plate of the printing plate such as a presensitized plate in a substantially oxygen-free state. The method and apparatus deprive substantially of oxygen at least an exposed area of the original plate being exposed to light at least during exposure and expose the original plate to the light at a wavelength of between 250 nm and 420 nm. The original plate has on a support an image recording layer containing a polymerization initiator, a polymerizable compound and a binder polymer, being sensitive to the light at the wavelengths of between 250 nm and 420 nm, having no oxygen barrier layer, and being removable with a printing ink and/or a fountain solution. That is, a latent image is formed by photo-polymerization on the original plate and the original plate is subjected to development on a printing press.

摘要: Respective light-emitting elements are caused to emit light at the maximum rated outputs and densities of three colors developed by a photosensitive material are made substantially uniform. The maximum rated outputs at light-emitting central wavelengths, of the three-color light-emitting elements are respectively 2.4 mW, 0.04 mW and 1.2 mW. The ratio between the outputs is represented as R:G:B=60:1:30. On the other hand, the ratio between spectral sensitivities of the most-frequently used photosensitive material is represented as R:G:B=1:30:2. An exposure-value ratio on the photosensitive material, which is synthetically obtained from these, reaches R:G:B=2:1:2. Thus, the numerical ratio among the light-emitting elements, for making exposure values uniform becomes R:G:B=1:2:1. The numbers of the respective light-emitting elements are defined so as to reach the least numbers from the numerical ratio (i.e., one R-light-emitting element, two G-light-emitting elements and one B-light-emitting element). Further, a repetition of R-G-B-G, R-G-G-B or the like is most suitable as the sequence of arrangement of the light-emitting elements.

摘要: An optical waveguide device comprises an optical waveguide for guiding an optical wave therethrough, and a grating coupler located on a surface of the optical waveguide in order to radiate the guided optical wave, which travels in the optical waveguide, out of the optical waveguide. The grating coupler is provided with a plurality of bars, the heights h of which increase approximately linearly and little by little in the direction along which the guided optical wave travels.
