The guide wall facing the intake port defined by the cylinder head construction and generally parallel to the line of action of an intake valve provided in the intake port has a height greater than the maximum lift of the intake valve, and decreases in width in the direction of opening of the intake valve. In addition, the size of the area and the position of the guide wall relative to the intake port and the intake valve are maintained in specific ranges, and thus the construction not only permits efficient ignition of a lean air-fuel mixture, but at the same time causes only a slight drop in engine performance.

    摘要: A method for manufacturing a display, where the display includes a light-transmissive substrate adhering to a display substrate that forms a display surface side of a display body. An edge of at least either an adhesion surface of the display substrate or an adhesion surface of the light-transmissive substrate is coated with an adhesive. The display substrate and the light-transmissive substrate are positioned in an offset manner to provide overlapping and non overlapping regions. For example, an edge of each of two adhesion surfaces overlap with each other, and other regions do not overlap with each other. The display substrate and the light-transmissive substrate are relatively moved to a position where an edge of the display substrate and an edge of the light-transmissive substrate respectively overlap with other edges in a state in which adhesive reservoirs are formed while maintaining a fixed gap between the two adhesion surfaces.

    摘要: An air intake device of an engine has intake pipes connected to each of the engine cylinders divided into first and second groups to prevent the continuance of the intake strokes of adjacent cylinders. A first connecting cavity connected to the first group of cylinders and a second connecting cavity connected to the second group of cylinders are arranged in parallel with each other, for effecting supercharging by utilizing the dynamic effect of intake air into each cylinder. A first communicating passage is connected at one end to a longitudinal end of the first connecting cavity and at the other end to a longitudinal end of the second connecting cavity. A second communicating passage arranged on the same side as the first communicating passage is connected at one end to a side of the first connecting cavity and at the other end to a side of the second collecting cavity. The effective passage length of the first communicating passage is shorter than that of the second communicating passage.

    摘要: Cylinder head construction defining a hemispheric combustion chamber and including a guide wall facing an intake port to impart swirl to an incoming air-fuel mixture and permit use of a lean air-fuel mixture. The position of the guide wall relative to the cylinder center and relative disposition of the guide wall and a spark plug are made such that although the guide wall is effective in imparting swirl, a flame front may be efficiently propagated to all parts of the combustion chamber subsequent to ignition of the air-fuel mixture therein, whereby provision of the guide wall does not result in increased emission of hydrocarbon compounds in exhaust gas or formation of carbon deposits in the combustion chamber.

Vibration-damping resin is provided on the inner surfaces of hollow portions (7)(8)(9), and particularly on the inner surface of the planar plate (3) and on a single surface of the inclined rib (4). With this arrangement, the vibration energy bending the planar plate (3) and the rib (4) is converted into a heat energy. In the case of manufacturing such truss type extruded aluminum vibration-damping section (1), for making easy the insertion of the vibration-damping resin in the hollow portion, the vibration-damping resin is stuck on a plastic film (11) to form a long planar body. The plastic film (11) serves as a cover or an adhesive. Moreover, in the case of directly inserting the vibration-damping resin sheet (14), the vibration-damping resin sheet (14) is subjected to embossing on the adhesive-bonding side for allowing air to escape. Additionally, in the case using an age-hardening type aluminum alloy, the adhesive-bonding for the vibration-damping resin by heating is performed along with the heat treatment for age-hardening.
