摘要: To excite a liquid-crystal display element, a square wave is applied to opposite electrodes of that element by a source of alternating voltage through a switching circuit which briefly short-circuits the display element, during every change of polarity of the voltage source, by connecting both electrodes to the same potential via a low-impedance path. As the display element discharges over that path, the source is open-circuited whereby energy consumption is reduced.

摘要: Provided is a reactor including a coil, and a core having an inner core portion arranged inside the coil and an outer core portion covering the outside of the coil. The inner core portion of the reactor has a higher saturation magnetic flux density than that of the outer core portion. The outer core portion has a lower permeability than that of the inner core portion, and is made of a mixture of a magnetic material and a resin. The case has a heat-transfer portion at an inner wall surface, as a heat-radiation structure for at least one of the coil and the inner core portion. With the reactor, even if the outside of the coil is covered with a core member, heat generated in the reactor can be effectively dissipated.

摘要: A device for cell culture capable of automatically performing operations for cell culture over several days to several months while minimizing the risk of contamination. A new medicine can be supplied to an incubator means by using a medicine supply means or unnecessary wastewater can be discharged from the incubator means by using a wastewater discharge means without taking out the incubator means disposed in heat insulation box means from a heat insulation box, and the state of the cell culture can be observed with the incubator means formed in the heat insulation box means. Accordingly, the outside air does not enter directly into the incubator means during culturing, and the risk of contamination is completely eliminated. As a result, the culturing operations can be automatically performed over a long period.

摘要: By use of an excitation beam having a wavelength which is equal to, or close to, the sizes of particular particulate substances as the object of analysis, the particulate substances such as an immunoreaction product between an antigen and an antibody or between the antigen and a material supporting the antibody thereon are detected selectively. Very small particles having specific sizes such as rheumatuid factors, cancer specific antigens can be detected with high sensitivity.

摘要: An automated analyzing apparatus with a photometer including an entrance slit permitting passing therethrough of the entirety or a portion of a convergent light beam transmitted successively through a plurality of sample measurement cells each containing a sample solution therein and a sensor converting the quantity of light passed through the entrance slit into a physical quantity which is an objective of measurement. A scattered light sensor is disposed between the sample measurement cells and the entrance slit at a position where the sensor is not irradiated with a straight advancing component of the light beam, whereby measurement of immunity-related tests on the basis of the intensity of scattered light can be made together with measurement of biochemical tests on the basis of the intensity of transmitted light.

摘要: An automatic rate analyzing method for determining a concentration of an item in concern contained in a sample to be analyzed comprises steps of irradiating the sample with light thereby to produce a transmitted light signal at a specific wavelength, converting the transmitted light signal into a corresponding electric signal and sampling the electric signal at a given interval thereby to produce a plurality of sample values. The plurality of sample values are grouped into groups each containing a predetermined number of sample values selected for every given number of the sample values. Each of the groups is deviated from the adjacent ones by a number of sample values smaller than the given number. The sample values in each of the groups are added together to produce sums associated with each of the groups. Difference between the sums of every two adjacent groups is determined and divided by the sum associated with either one of the two adjacent groups thereby to produce quotients which are then added together to produce a total sum representing the concentration of the item in concern.
