摘要: In a PON system, an OLT periodically transmits a channel resource information block specifying a carrier wavelength and a spreading code on a first downstream channel to which a spread-spectrum spreader having a first spreading code is applied; one of ONUs receives the channel resource information block with a spread-spectrum despreader having the first spreading code and transmits a connection request to the OLT, using the carrier wavelength and the spreading code specified by the channel resource information block; the OLT having received the connection request transmits a new channel resource information block specifying a carrier wavelength and a spreading code to be used on an upstream data channel to the requester ONU through the first channel; and the requester ONU transmits data, using the carrier wavelength and the spreading code specified by the new channel resource information block.

摘要: The present invention provides: (1) a compensator that compensates a wide range of amount of dispersion of light in a wide bandwidth band; and (2) a variable dispersion slope compensator applicable to the case where a transmission path suitable for a wavelength division multiplexing transmission system produces a wavelength dispersion slope. The present invention realizes: (1) a variable dispersion compensator that compensates a wide range of amount of dispersion of light in a wide bandwidth band; and (2) a variable dispersion slope compensator suitable for a wavelength division multiplexing transmission system. To realize the above, a dispersion compensating unit is provided with a structure in which a mirror is disposed in parallel to or with a slight angle relative to an etalon to reflect a light beam emitted from a collimator on the etalon multiple times and then emit the light beam into another collimator.

摘要: The present invention provides a network in which the installation of working lines may be enabled based on the required traffic and the high speed switching of the transmission lines may be realized, as well as a transmission equipment used for that network and a method of control thereof. The transmission equipment comprises an APS byte transmitter/receiver for exchanging information on failures with adjacent transmission equipment through a protection line, a monitor for monitoring anomalies on a plurality of the working lines, a Network Table for storing data indicating network structure, a processing unit for determining working lines to be switched based on the data stored in the Network Table and for processing APS bytes. APS bytes are allocated with the working line number, its priority, and the source node number of switching signal. In addition a Network Table is provided to each node for storing connecting state of the network and information on failures, thereby the destination node may be identified. When a failure occurs, the best optimal line switching will be performed by exchanging information on failures by means of the APS bytes.

摘要: An optical amplifier includes an optical amplification medium which has simultaneous inputs of a WDM signal light and a pumping light and amplifies the WDM signal light, a pumping light source, and an amplification characteristic supervisor part which evaluates the gain tilt of amplified WDM signal lights. The supervisor part is provided in advance with a record of the relation between the medium output light power and the pumping light power corresponding to the output light power in terms of a number of proper curves plotted for certain gain tilts, and adapted to select a proper curve which is nearest to the relation in operation between the power of the pumping light which is incident to the medium in operation and the resulting amplified output light power from among the recorded proper curves, thereby determining the gain tilt of the medium based on the selected proper curve.

摘要: In a synchronous multiplex network including a plurality of multiplex transmission apparatuses, an overhead is passed through intervening multiplex transmission apparatuses such that administration and maintenance operation information is transmitted and received through the overhead between arbitrary multiplex transmission apparatuses. The multiplex transmission apparatus receives a multiplexed signal comprising a payload having a plurality of main signals multiplexed therein and overhead bytes including a plurality of administration and maintenance operation information, performs termination processing for the administration and maintenance operation information and transmission processing for the payload, thereafter converts the multiplexed signal into a different multiplexed signal comprising a payload which has been processed for transmission and a plurality of administration and maintenance operation information, and transmits the different multiplexed signal.

摘要: In the optical waveguide board, simultaneously with pattern formation of mirror members at arbitrary positions on a clad layer 11, guiding patterns 14 having convex shapes are formed respectively at arbitrary positions on peripheral parts of mirror patterns 13, and the mirror patterns 13 are worked into tapered shapes. Next, in a state that a mask member 100 having through holes at desired positions, and the guiding patterns 14 are guided by mating, a metal film is formed on surfaces of slope parts 22 of the mirror patterns and the guiding patterns 14. Furthermore, in a state that the guiding patterns 14 and the photomask 16 are guided, wiring core patterns 20 are formed on the clad layer 11 adjacent to the mirror patterns 13.
