摘要: A method for evaluating a coating sag includes the steps of determining a coating thickness on a specific coating surface, evaluating an inclination of the specific coating surface, determining a criticality of a coating sag on a vertical surface at which a coating sag is produced and evaluating whether or not a coating sag is produced on the specific coating surface based on the inclination of the specific coating surface and the coating thickness on the specific coating surface in view of the criticality on the vertical coating surface as a reference. It is possible to determine coating conditions which can effectively prevent a coating sag during the coating action even if it is made on an inclined coating surface.

摘要: The measuring device has bobs 10, 17 suspended from a weight 12 with wires 11, 16. The hook 13 of the weight 12 is hung from a suspensor thread 15 extending downwards from a balance 14. The weight 12 may be omitted by using the upper bob 10 for dead weight. The bobs 10, 17 and the wires 11, 16 may be coated with a coating layer unreactive to the melt 19 whose density is to be measured. The weights of the measuring device is measured by the balance 14 under the first condition that the lower bob 17 is immersed in the liquid 19 and the second condition that the bobs 10, 17 are both immersed in the liquid 19. The density of the liquid 19 is calculated from the two measured values without the influence of the surface tension of the liquid 19 applied to the wires 11, 16.

摘要: In a card reader for reading information from a card which may contain the information as optical, magnetic, electronic or physical data, inside a casing is provided a carriage which carries the card and is adapted to be conveyed from an outer position to an inner position by a linear drive mechanism. By not using a pair of drive and pinch rollers as opposed to conventional card readers, the card is free from contamination by the rollers, and the operation reliability of the card reader is improved. Further, the elimination of rollers also contributes to the reduction in the overall height of the card reader. The clamp mechanism for securing a card to the carriage may be provided with interlocking means which prevents the movement of the carriage until a card is securely gripped by the clamp mechanism.
