    摘要: It is intended to provide a therapeutic and/or diagnostic agent that can be used in photodynamic therapy (PDT) or photodynamic diagnosis (PDD) capable of utilizing infrared-spectrum light such as near-infrared light (NIR), infrared light, or far-infrared light, which attains a deep body penetration. The present invention provides a photodynamic therapeutic or diagnostic agent or a photodynamic therapeutic or diagnostic kit for cancer or infectious disease, comprising: a particle (e.g., a lanthanide particle) that emits upconversion luminescence by infrared-spectrum light such as near-infrared light having a wavelength of 0.7 μm to 2.5 μm; and a photosensitizer (e.g., porphyrin) or a 5-aminolevulinic acid group.

    摘要: The invention described herein relates to sterically stabilized colloidal constructs comprising preformed colloidal particles encapsulated within a polymeric shell. The constructs, which are controllably sized, are nanoparticles comprising hydrophobic elements, electrostatically charged particles with hydrophobic surfaces, hydrophobic inorganic nanostructures, and amphiphilic copolymers with hydrophobic domains and hydrophilic domains. The constructs are made by a process that allows for the simultaneous encapsulation of a preformed colloidal agent as well as a dissolved hydrophobic active within the core of the polymeric nanoparticle. Among the actives incorporated in various embodiments are organic fluorescent dyes, metal nanostructures and superparamagnetic materials for use in combined fluorescence, optical and magnetic resonance imaging applications, and hydrophobic drugs for therapeutic applications.
