    Abstract: A tube tire capable of simply, positively preventing the generation of a puncture due to contact of opposing portions of the wall surface of a tube. Double wall portions are formed at rim striking portions of a tube contained in a tire, and the internal spaces of the double wall portions are filled with a sealant. When the tire rides over an obstacle and the tire and the tube are clamped between the flange portions of a rim and the obstacle, the shock is damped by the double wall portions to prevent damage of the tube. Even if the double wall portions are damaged, the damaged portion is repaired with the sealant, thereby eliminating the generation of leakage of air.

    Abstract: A method of making a solid core locatable between a wheel rim and a tire fitted to the rim, includes introducing a foamable composition into a mould cavity having a substantially inflexible mould surface. The cavity is suitably shaped so that a core locatable between a wheel rim and a tire fitted to the rim can be moulded therein. The composition is allowed to foam, thereby to fill the mould cavity. Air and excess composition is allowed to vent from the cavity via an elongate vent slit extending along a major portion of the cavity. The foamed core thus moulded in the cavity is removed from the cavity on the composition having set at least partially.

    Abstract: A safety support system in which an annular safety support of resilient foam material having an outer diameter less than the inner diameter of the tire is positioned around a rim and within the tire. The foam material has closed cells containing gas under pressure for supporting the tire in the deflated condition and expanding in an axial direction to press the bead portions against the bead seats of the rim. The safety support has beads and a fabric reinforced construction at a radially outer wall for controlling expansion beyond the radially outer diameter. A second reinforcing fabric ply may be provided at the radially inner wall for controlling expansion and facilitating field mounting of the safety support.

    Abstract: A pneumatic tire and wheel rim assembly containing a support hoop which supports the vehicle to which the assembly is fitted when the tire deflates by contacting the inside of the tire tread at the top and bottom of the assembly. The dimensions of the hoop are such that its inner surface does not touch the rim whether the tire is inflated or deflated, and its outer surface does not touch the tire when inflated normally.
