摘要: A head-up display for a vehicle having a window. The head-up display comprises a picture generating unit and a projection engine. The picture generating unit is arranged to output pictures. Each picture comprises a first picture component and a second picture component. The projection engine is arranged to receive the pictures output by the picture generating unit and project the pictures onto the window of the vehicle in order to form a first virtual image of the first picture component at a first virtual image distance and a second virtual image of the second picture component at a second virtual image distance. Light of the first picture component is polarised in a first polarisation direction and light of the second picture component is polarised in a second polarisation direction perpendicular to the first polarisation direction. The projection engine comprises an optical element having first optical power in the first polarisation direction and second optical power in the second polarisation direction such that the first virtual image distance is not equal to the second virtual image distance. The projection engine is further arranged such that the first virtual image and second virtual image at least partially overlap.

摘要: The information display apparatus has a housing with an opening and a transparent cover formed on the opening, the housing includes image-light generating means configured to generate image light that displays the image information and an optical system configured to allow a driver of the vehicle to recognize image information based on the image light from the image-light generating means as a virtual image in front of the windshield. When S-polarized light on the windshield is assumed to be a first polarized wave while polarized light that orthogonally crosses the S-polarized light in a polarizing direction is assumed to be a second polarized wave, the image-light generating means is configured to generate the image light made of the first polarized wave, and a transmittance/reflectance control means blocks a part of the first polarized wave and the second polarized wave of incident external light entering the housing from the opening.

During the redirection of the one or more emitted light beams, the respective intensity of each of the one or more emitted light beams is modulated in accordance with the timing information to display one or more pixels of an image at each of the at least some multiple locations.

摘要: A head-up display system includes a display that emits a light flux and a light guide body that guides the light flux to the light-transmitting member. A light beam at a center of the light flux emitted from the display is incident while being inclined with respect to a normal direction of the incident surface of the light guide body. The light flux incident on the incident surface of the light guide body is changed in a traveling direction in the light guide body, the light flux is replicated into a plurality of light fluxes in a horizontal direction of the virtual image, and then the replicated light fluxes are further replicated in a vertical direction of the virtual image to be emitted from the emission surface so as to expand the visual recognition region. A light beam at a center of the light fluxes emitted from the light guide body is emitted toward the light-transmitting member while being inclined with respect to a normal direction of the emission surface of the light guide body.

摘要: A visual perception system includes a scanning camera, color sensor with color filter array (CFA), and a classifier node. The camera captures full color pixel images of a target object, e.g., a traffic light, and processes the pixel images through a narrow band pass filter (BPF), such that the narrow BPF outputs monochromatic images of the target object. The color sensor and CFA receive the monochromatic images. The color sensor has at least three color channels each corresponding to different colors of spectral data in the monochromatic images. The classifier node uses a predetermined classification decision tree to classify constituent pixels of the monochromatic images into different color bins as a corresponding color of interest. The color of interest may be used to perform a control action, e.g., via an automated driver assist system (ADAS) control unit or an indicator device.

摘要: A variety of femtoprojector optical systems are described. Each of them can be made small enough to fit in a contact lens using plastic injection molding, diamond turning, photolithography and etching, or other techniques. Most, but not all, of the systems include a solid cylindrical transparent substrate with a curved primary mirror formed on one end and a secondary mirror formed on the other end. Any of the designs may use light blocking, light-redirecting, absorbing coatings or other types of baffle structures as needed to reduce stray light.

摘要: A display device (e.g., in a contact lens) is mounted on the eye. The eye mounted display contains multiple sub-displays, each of which projects light to different retinal positions within a portion of the retina corresponding to the sub-display. Additionally, a “locally uniform resolution” mapping may be used to model the variable resolution of the eye. Accordingly, various aspects of the display device may be based on the locally uniform resolution mapping. For example, the light emitted from the sub-displays may be based on the locally uniform resolution mapping.
