摘要: Described are system and methods for maximizing charging power to an information handling system (IHS) from a programmable power supply (PPS). The IHS and the PPS initiate communication with one another. Information is exchanged as to the capabilities of the PPS for providing charging power to battery cells of the IHS, and information as to the battery cells of the HIS. Charging power from the PPS based on the configuration and capability of the battery cells of the IHS, and charging power is kept at a maximum power throughout charging of the battery cells.

摘要: A method is provided for using a microcontroller for driving an external device, where the microcontroller comprises a processor coupled to a controller, and the controller comprises a state machine coupled to a storage medium configured to store at least one command executable by the state machine. A drive signal is generated using the controller to drive the external device. The storage medium may be configured by the processor with various commands and waveforms for operating different types of external devices. The proposed microprocessor permits reducing power consumption while at the same time allowing for a broad flexibility of use.

摘要: A connection manner identification method includes power sourcing equipment separately sending load adjustment indications to powered devices by using data ports, where each load adjustment indication in the load adjustment indications indicates a corresponding powered device to adjust a load. The powered devices are separately connected to power supply ports of the power sourcing equipment by using power supply cables, and the powered devices are separately connected to the data ports of the power sourcing equipment by using data cables. The power sourcing equipment obtains output power changes of the power supply ports caused by load adjustment of the powered devices, and the power sourcing equipment determines, based on the output power changes, a first data port and a power supply port that are connected to a same powered device in the powered devices.
