Abstract:
Process for waterproofing semimanufactured footwear, clothing items and accessories, said semimanufactured product having a three-dimensional conformation with at least one inner surface and one outer surface, which comprises the following operative steps: arranging the semimanufactured product onto a shaped support (14; 27, 28; 30, 31) with at least one waterproofing sheath (18) shaped for entirely or partially cover the surfaces to be waterproofed of the semimanufactured product, at least one glue layer being arranged between these surfaces and the waterproofing sheath (18); pressing between two deformable plates (2, 2′) the semimanufactured product provided with the waterproofing sheath (18) and arranged on the shaped support (14; 27, 28; 30, 31). The present invention also relates to a machine that carries out said process, as well as the semimanufactured products obtained with said process or machine.
Abstract:
Method and systems are provided for decorating product packaging. A substrate suitable for product packaging to a thermal printer, such as a thermal transfer printer. A decoration is selected for printing on the substrate. The thermal printer is operated to print at least a portion of the decoration on the substrate.
Abstract:
A method of producing a seal comprising forming an elongated strip of a thermoplastic material having laterally spaced, interlockable portions; bending such strip along a longitudinal line disposed between the spaced interlockable portions to position the interlockable portions in opposed relation; and interlocking the interlockable portions together when such portions are disposed in opposed relation to provide a bulb segment and a mount segment.
Abstract:
A modular composite manufacturing method. An illustrative embodiment of the method includes providing a plurality of composite modules; inspecting the composite modules; providing a curing tool; and placing the composite modules on the curing tool.
Abstract:
An apparatus for obtaining “shrink sleeve” labels, comprises a carousel that is provided peripherally with a plurality of spindles configured for being wound from portions of plastic film, a sealing device cooperating with said spindles means for sealing opposite edges of said portions for obtaining said “shrink sleeve” labels, said sealing device comprising a laser device; a method for labelling containers, comprises in sequence: advancing a plastic film in an advancing direction; cutting said plastic film transversely to said advancing direction to obtain a portion of plastic film; winding said portion in such a way as to make opposite edges of said portion overlap one another; joining together said edges to obtain a “shrink sleeve” label, said joining comprising sealing by means of a laser beam.
Abstract:
There is provided a process for producing a seamed, flexible electrostatographic imaging member belt comprising providing a flexible, substantially rectangular, electrostatographic imaging sheet having a first major exterior surface opposite and parallel to a second major exterior surface and a first marginal end region of said sheet opposite and parallel with a second marginal end region; shaping said first marginal end region at an angle to form a first new sloping surface between the first major exterior surface and the second major exterior surface, shaping said second marginal end region at an angle to form a second new sloping surface between the first major exterior surface and the second major exterior surface, wherein the second new sloping surface is substantially parallel with the first new sloping surface; forming the sheet into a loop and overlapping said first new sloping surface with said second new sloping surface to form a mated region; and, joining said first new sloping surface to said second new sloping surface in the mated region to form a thin profile butt-lap seam. The sloping surfaces may be formed using a cutting assembly in accordance with the disclosure.
Abstract:
A device and method for the manufacture of medical devices, specifically, endovascular grafts, or sections thereof. Layers of fusible material are disposed upon a shape forming member and seams formed between the layers in a configuration that can produce inflatable channels in desired portions of the graft. After creation of the seams, the fusible material of the inflatable channels may be fixed while the channels are in an expanded state. A five axis robotic seam forming apparatus may be used to create the seams in the layers of fusible material.
Abstract:
A method of manufacture includes the steps of laminating together a pleated filter media with an expanded wire forming a laminate; pleating the laminate forming a filter pack with a two pleated edges; forming an inner frame with inner front and back panels, an inner top side with two flaps and an inner bottom side with another two flaps; adhering the pleated first edge to the inner top side; inserting a support wire between the inner frame and the filter media; adhering the flaps together to form box to contain the filter media; forming an outer frame with outer front and back panels, an outer top side with two flaps and an outer bottom side with another two flaps; adhering the flaps together to form a second box to contain the filter media; inserting clips to engage the outer and inner frames forming an expandable air filter.
Abstract:
A profile or tube consisting of flexibly rolled strip material which comprises a variable material thickness in the rolling direction, wherein the profile or tube is provided with a longitudinal seam which extends in the rolling direction and which is positioned in the region of an overlap of the strip rims.
Abstract:
The lamination apparatus of this invention is furnished with a supporting member for a core roll around which films and so forth are wound. The supporting member is durable and can hold firmly the core roll without slip of the core roll for the shaft. The lamination apparatus is to form lamination layers of laminate film pasted on the surface of the printed matters like computer output media, posters, advertising fliers and so forth. The supporting member for a core roll is comprised of a flexible tube 74 like a soft vinyl tube with both ends fixed with fitting 75 in the grooves made on the cylindrical surface of the shaft 71 cut in the axial direction which supports a core roll of laminate film, carrier film and so forth.
