Abstract: A self-disinfecting photocatalyst sheet includes a substrate material and a photocatalyst layer with a primary photocatalyst and a secondary photocatalyst. The primary photocatalyst is a metal oxide photocatalyst, whereas the secondary photocatalyst is a metallic photocatalyst. The substrate material binds the photocatalyst layer by either connecting a metal ion of the primary photocatalyst and/or the secondary photocatalyst through two oxygen atoms of a carboxyl group (COO), or by forming hydrogen bonds between a carbonyl group and a surface hydroxyl group (OH−) of the primary photocatalyst. The self-disinfecting photocatalyst sheet is activatable by a visible light and can self-disinfect against bacteria and viruses.

Abstract: Combined hydroprocessing and solvent deasphalting with sequential addition of a dispersed catalyst to process heavy oil without increasing equipment fouling. An example method includes: hydroprocessing heavy oil containing dispersed catalyst particles to yield upgraded heavy oil; subjecting a resid portion of the upgraded heavy oil to solvent deasphalting to produce DAO and pitch; and hydroprocessing the deasphalted oil containing dispersed catalyst particles to yield upgraded deasphalted oil. An example system includes: mixer(s) for blending catalyst precursor with heavy oil to form conditioned feedstock; heater to decompose catalyst precursor and form dispersed catalyst particles in situ; hydroprocessing reactor(s) for hydroprocessing heavy oil to yield upgraded heavy oil; solvent deasphalting system to separate DAO from pitch; mixer(s) for blending catalyst precursor with deasphalted oil to form conditioned deasphalted oil; heater to decompose catalyst precursor and form dispersed catalyst particles in situ; and hydroprocessing reactor(s) for hydroprocessing deasphalted oil yield upgraded deasphalted oil.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to zeolites and method for making such zeolites. According to embodiments disclosed herein, a zeolite may have a microporous framework including a plurality of micropores having diameters of less than or equal to 2 nm and a plurality of mesopores having diameters of greater than 2 nm and less than or equal to 50 nm. The microporous framework may include an MFI framework type. The microporous framework may include silicon atoms, aluminum atoms, oxygen atoms, and transition metal atoms. The transition metal atoms may be dispersed throughout the entire microporous framework.
