    摘要: A method of shearing a thin metal sheet having a thickness of approximately 0.1 mm or less so as to be separated into a product and scrap by a pair of dies. A chamfer or a round having a size of approximately from 5 to 10 times greater than the thickness of the thin metal sheet is arranged at the lip of a first die which presses one portion of the thin metal sheet which is to be scrap. A chamfer or a round is not substantially arranged at the lip of a second die which presses the other portion of the thin metal sheet which is to be a product. A backing material and the thin metal sheet are overlapped so as to be a laminate. The backing material has a thickness of approximately 2 times or more greater than that of the thin metal sheet and is formed of a flexible material having a very small elongation and is soft enough not to substantially prevent the thin metal sheet from being sheared, such as, for example, paper. The laminate is arranged such that the backing material faces the pressing surface of the first die and that the thin metal sheet faces the pressing surface of the second die. Then, the thin metal sheet and the backing material are sheared concurrently. Thus, the thin metal sheet can be sheared, by methods such as blanking and piercing, while inhibiting burring, without requiring any special type of device or blanking die.

    摘要: A DIN rail cutter and punching apparatus for cutting a DIN rail to a selected length and for punching at least one mounting slot therethrough at a desired angular orientation comprises a shear for cutting the DIN rail and a punch and die set which is operatively coupled for operation in unison with the shear. The DIN rail cutter comprises a shear for cutting the DIN rail and is arranged for removably receiving a cutting die for accommodating any of a plurality of cutting dies for cutting different shapes of DIN rail. A rotating punch and die set for punching a DIN rail at any of a plurality of angular orientations comprises a punch mounting block; a punch rotatably mounted in the punch mounting block; a die mounting block and a die rotatably mounted in the die mounting block; the punch mounting block and the die mounting block are mounted for relative movement so as to advance and retract the punch into an out of engagement with the die. An interlocking member releasably interlocks with the die for preventing rotation thereof. A release arrangement releases the interlocking member in response to advancement of the punch into engagement with the die such that rotation of the die can only be achieved with the punch in engagement therewith to thereby positively maintain alignment between the punch and the die without regard for the angular orientation of the punch and die relative to a workpiece.

Each cylinder assembly includes a piston associated with and exposed to the nitrogen in the manifold. The cylinder assemblies are connected to a single hydraulic valve which has associated therewith an accumulator and which is operated simultaneously to actuate the cylinders. The hydraulic lines to the cylinders are provided in the manifold.

    摘要: A module for selectively deploying a reciprocable tool, such as a hole punch, which is reciprocated by a press. The module includes a housing which is attached to the ram of the press. The housing retains a reciprocable tool within a bore for movement between an extended position and a retracted position. The reciprocable tool is connected to the housing by means of a telescopic linkage comprising a cone clutch having resilient fingers that selectively grip a pin. The housing includes a conical surface which engages beveled portions of the resilient fingers holding them in a closed position. A spring biases the cone clutch to its closed or gripping position unless air pressure is supplied to an air chamber which counteracts the biasing force of the spring to open the resilient fingers. When the resilient fingers are open, a shifting means comprising a spring, or alternatively a solenoid, is effective to shift the pin between an extended position and a retracted position within the cone clutch. A controller is disclosed for selectively shifting the reciprocable tool between its extended position and its retracted position within the module wherein a card having air flow control holes corresponding to modules selected for changeover is inserted in the controller.
