Abstract: A computer and a method for controlling an operating state of a device thereof are disclosed. The method comprises: detecting that a display portion and a host portion of the computer are in a state of being disconnected from each other; and generating a state event or a control instruction corresponding to the disconnected state for switching the device to an inactive state. With the present invention, when the state of a computer changes, e.g., when a display portion and a host portion of a portable computer are separated, an operating system can control a device to switch its operating state, e.g., deactivate the device, based on a generated state event. In this way, it is possible to avoid unnecessary power consumption of the entire computer due to the active state of the device, and any potential security risk can be eliminated.

Abstract: The disclosure provides a downlink transmission method and an eNodeB in a multiple input multiple output system. The method includes: obtaining channel quality indication of a User Equipment (UE) to generate a channel condition indication value; obtaining channel rank indication of the UE to generate a channel correlation indication value; obtaining uplink channel impulse response estimation data of the UE to generate a channel variation state indication value; selecting a downlink transmission mode according to the channel condition indication value, the channel correlation indication value and the channel variation state indication value; transmitting data to the UE in the selected downlink transmission mode. Because of extracting information from a current channel as a basis of a subsequent selection of the downlink mode, the disclosure can greatly improve a resource utilization ratio of a system and realize a better wireless transmission effect.

Abstract: Embodiments for reducing redundancy in video coding are disclosed. In accordance with at least one embodiment, video content is represented as a tree structure in which the nodes of the tree structure are associated with attributes of the video content. An encoder analyzes the nodes to determine whether there is redundancy associated with a last node of a divided node. In another embodiment, bidirectional prediction video coding techniques are applied to the video content. The encoder analyzes two lists of reference frames to determine whether a third mode of bidirectional prediction is redundant to a second mode of bidirectional prediction. The efficiency of video coding is improved by refraining from sending data symbols to the decoder in the event that the video coding techniques contain redundancy.
