    Abstract: An electric motor or driven machine including a structure; a stator device fixed at the structure; a rotor device including an outer circumference; and a rotor shaft coupled or couplable to the rotor device for torque transmission and supported rotatable about an axis of rotation and substantially axially fixed in or on the structure, wherein the rotor device is axially supported proximal to its outer circumference in an axis-parallel direction by an aerostatic bearing including a stator-side bearing surface formed on the stator device and a rotor-side bearing surface formed on the rotor device and a bearing gap formed between the stator side bearing surface and the rotor side bearing surface, wherein the rotor device is formed by a rotor disc, wherein circumferentially spaced and radially extending permanent magnets of an electromagnetic operating device are provided at the rotor disk, radially inside from the aerostatic bearing.

    Abstract: An assemblable modular and disc coreless permanent magnet superconducting ultra-efficient motor comprises a junction box, a housing, bearings, a rotating shaft, rotors, a stator, and air gaps; the housing comprises a left and a right end cover, the rotors comprise a left and right rotor; both left and right rotor comprise 2N pairs of left or right rotor poles and rotor yokes; the stator comprises a stator armature disc and stator windings, the bearings comprise a left and right bearing, and the air gaps comprise a left and right air gap. The rotor's magnetic field is replaced by high-temperature resistant rare earth high-intensity permanent magnets, and the rotor's electrically excited magnetic field is replaced by permanent magnets, eliminating rotor's copper and iron losses. The winding superconducting wires eliminate stator's copper loss, and stator iron core removal eliminates stator's iron and magnetic saturation loss, improving the efficiency and torque output.

    Abstract: Presented are electric machines with optimized stator tooth geometries and multi-gauge stator conductors, methods for making/using such electric machines, and motor vehicles equipped with such electric machines. An electric machine includes a housing, a rotor assembly rotatably attached to the housing, and a stator assembly coaxial with and separated by an airgap from the rotor assembly. The rotor assembly includes one or more magnets mounted to a rotor core. The stator assembly includes a stator core with multiple axially elongated, circumferentially spaced stator slots, multiple radially aligned stator teeth interleaved between and separating the slots, and multiple electromagnetic windings wound through the slots. Each stator tooth has an elongated tooth body with a tooth head at a radial end of a tooth root, which attaches to a cylindrical hub of the stator core. The tooth head has an axial cross-section with a trapezoidal crown integral with a rectangular tip.

    Abstract: According to one embodiment, a rotor includes a rotor core which includes magnetic poles, magnet holding slots for each of the magnetic poles, and permanent magnets arranged in the magnet holding slots, respectively. The magnet holding slot includes a magnet loading area, a magnetic cavity, and an opening which opens to the magnetic cavity and an outer circumference of the rotor core. The rotor core includes a protruding portion having an outer surface which extends to the opening continuously with the outer circumferential surface of the rotor core, an end surface which intersects the outer surface at angle 90±10° to face the opening, and an inner surface which intersects the end surface to form an edge of the magnetic cavity.
