Abstract:
[Object]To provide a technology for realizing an environment in which a user can play a game comfortably.[Solving Means]A download executing block 104 obtains a digital content from a server connected to a network. A recording processing block 106 records the digital content in an auxiliary storage device 2. The digital content is constituted of a plurality of files. Each file belongs to at least one of a plurality of groups, and at least one file belongs to each group. A determining block 108 determines where a file is recorded in the auxiliary storage device 2 in group units.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus provide for managing multiplayer play among a first player and at least one second player, where a first mode of multiplayer play is defined such that a game server selects the second player by: (i) selecting candidates by consulting a player database of information concerning a plurality of other players, (ii) sending invitations to the selected candidates to be the selected second player, (iii) receiving acceptances of the invitations from the candidates; and (iv) selecting the second player from among the candidates from whom acceptances were received; and where a second mode of multiplayer play is defined such that the game server selects the second player by consulting a player database of information concerning the plurality of other players, without consideration of an invitation to, or an acceptance from, the selected second player.
Abstract:
A controller 20 transmits a unique ID to a console main unit 10 when starting communication with said console main unit 10. The console main unit 10 determines whether the received unique ID has already been registered in a wired controller No. registration table, and when it has already been registered, sets already registered correspondence for corresponding a virtual controller No., a wired controller No., and the unique ID. Otherwise, if it is not yet registered, a wired controller No. and the unique ID are corresponded, and new registration and correspondence setting for corresponding them to a virtual controller No. is conducted. The virtual controller No. corresponded to the unique ID is associated to predetermined information processing if the already registered correspondence setting or new registration and correspondence setting is completed.
Abstract:
A system for performing a pinch and hold gesture is described. The system includes a head-mounted display (HMD) and a glove, which is worn by a hand of the user. Each finger segment of the glove includes a sensor for detecting positions of the finger segment when moved by the hand. The system includes a computing device interfaced with the HMD and the glove. The computing device analyzes data from the sensors of the finger segments to determine that a pinch and hold gesture is performed by at least two of the finger segments. Moreover, the computing device generates image data that is communicated to the HMD, such that a scene rendered on the HMD is modified to render a visual cue indicative of a location in the scene at which the pinch and hold gesture is associated.
Abstract:
The present invention is to provide an information processing device, an information processing method, a program, and an information storage medium with which the accuracy of detection of whether the contact of an object with a subject is present or absent is improved compared with conventional techniques. A frame image acquiring section (32) acquires plural frame images that include a subject region in which an image of a subject appears and are taken at timings different from each other. A subject partial region identifying section (38) identifies, about each of the frame images, plural subject partial regions that are each part of the subject region and are different from each other in the position in the subject region. A partial region feature identifying section (40) identifies partial region features showing variation in an image feature of an image occupying the subject partial region on the basis of the image feature of the image occupying each of the subject partial regions associated with each other in each of the frame images. A contact determining section (42) determines whether the contact of an object with the subject is present or absent on the basis of a relationship among the partial region features each associated with a respective one of plural subject partial regions.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for filtering content include identifying content for presenting in a rendering space defined by one or more mechanisms of a head mounted display (HMD), wherein the content is interactive, streaming content. A rating score for the content is identified. The content is dynamically adjusted to selectively filter a portion of the content based on a user profile of the user, rating score of the content, and ongoing interactions detected at the content. The adjusted content is formatted for rendering on the HMD. The formatted content is automatically transmitted to the HMD for rendering, in response to the request.
Abstract:
In an image processing apparatus, a sensor output data acquisition unit acquires data of layered image information from a sensor group. A slice image generation unit generates data of a two-dimensional image for each slice plane surfaces in which distribution is acquired. An image axis conversion unit generates similar data of a two-dimensional image for a plurality of plane surfaces that are perpendicular to an axis different from a sensor axis. A slice image management unit of a display processing unit manages a slice image that is used for drawing according to the position of a viewpoint or the like. Memory for drawing sequentially stores data of an image necessary for drawing. An additional object image storage unit stores image data of an object that is additionally displayed such as a cursor or the like. An image drawing unit draws a three-dimensional object using data of the slice image.
Abstract:
A memory system method for controlling the same, and an information processing device using the same are provided. The system includes a plurality of memory chips electrically connected with one another by a bus (e.g. address bus, data bus, control bus, etc.), which are disposed in a stacked arrangement and extend through the plurality of memory chips in a stacking direction, and a memory controller connected to a plurality of processors and to the bus, and further to a chip select signal line for outputting a chip select signal to each of the plurality of memory chips. The memory controller converts an address signal from each of the processors into a set of the chip select signal and the address signal, which is outputted to the address bus, so as to relay inputs and outputs of data between each of the processors and each of the memory chips.
Abstract:
A system and method of using a peripheral device for interfacing with a virtual reality scene generated by a computer for presentation on a head mounted display. The peripheral device includes a haptic device capable of being placed in contact with a user and a haptic feedback controller for processing instructions for outputting a haptic signal to the haptic device. The haptic feedback controller receiving the instructions from the computer so that haptic feedback of the haptic device changes to correspond to a user's virtual interactions with a virtual object in the virtual reality scene as presented on the head mounted display.
