摘要： In an infrared sensor 1 including a condenser lens 3 and a multi-element light-receiving unit 2 with a plurality of light-receiving elements 2a to 2h aligned therein on a straight line, a position of receiving an intensity distribution peak of infrared rays which have passed through the condenser lens 3 is deviated from the center position of the multi-element light-receiving unit 2 to a desired light-receiving element position. Especially when the infrared sensor 1 is included in an air conditioner, the position of receiving the intensity distribution peak of the infrared rays is set to the position of a light-receiving element used for detecting heat in a location far from the installment position of the air conditioner.

The lower portion of the rear heat exchanger (3) is located rearward in comparison with the upper portion of the rear heat exchanger (3) so as to be inclined backward. A louver (12) is provided to extend upward from the front upper portion of the rear drain pan (11) substantially along the shell of the air blower (1) so as to guide the air passing through the rear heat exchanger (3) to the air blower air path (4), and to catch drained water from the upper portion of the rear heat exchanger (3) and make the drained water flow into the rear drain pan (11).

摘要： An electrode plate is formed by a substrate and a plurality of patterned electrodes formed on the substrate. Each patterned electrode has a laminate structure including a first layer of nickel metal formed on the substrate and a second layer of copper formed thereon. The electrode plate may be prepared by a process including a step of etching such a multilayer metal electrode-forming film formed on a substrate by spraying an etchant downwardly and uniformly onto the substrate while rotating the substrate at a rotation speed sufficient to allow quick liberation of the etchant from the substrate. The metal electrodes can be formed with a good adhesion onto the substrate and with good accuracies of width and thickness. By incorporating the electrode plate as a pair of substrates sandwiching a liquid crystal, a liquid crystal device showing free from transmission delay and rounding of voltage waveforms can be provided.
