Abstract:
A lighting apparatus is provided with a first housing assembly formed from a thermally conductive material and a second housing assembly formed of a thermally conductive material. At least one electrical component is positioned within the first housing assembly and the at least one electrical component is in thermally conductive contact with the first housing assembly. At least one light source is in thermally conductive contact with the second housing assembly. The second housing assembly is not in thermally conductive contact with the first housing assembly, such that thermal energy from the first housing assembly does not directly transfer to the second housing assembly.
Abstract:
A luminaire with a plurality of optical waveguides disposed in side-by-side relationship, together at least partially defining a closed path, and a plurality of optical coupling portions disposed adjacent to the optical waveguides. Further, each optical coupling portion is associated with one of the optical waveguides, and each coupling portion includes a refractive portion and a pair of reflective portions disposed on opposite sides of the refractive portion. Additionally, at least one LED is associated with each optical coupling portion and disposed at a first end of the associated optical coupling portion.
Abstract:
An LED light fixture a housing, a heat sink secured with respect to the housing, the heat sink has a base with front and back surfaces, and an LED arrangement mounted at the front surface of the heat sink. The back surface of the heat sink is open to water/air flow thereover. The LED light fixture also includes at least one closed channel extending along the base and spaced therefrom for receiving wire connections for the LED arrangement. The at least one closed channel receives wiring extending to/from the second LED module. The LED arrangement may include at least first and second LED modules, the first LED module being proximal to the housing with the at least one closed channel receiving wiring extending to/from the second LED module. The first and second LED modules may be in end-to-end relationship to one another such that the second LED module is distal from the housing.

Abstract:
A luminaire includes a housing, an optical waveguide disposed in the housing comprising a plurality of light coupling cavities, and a plurality of LEDs disposed in the housing adjacent the plurality of coupling cavities. A mounting apparatus is adapted to mount the luminaire on a roadway stanchion.
Abstract:
A luminaire for use in lighting a large open space such as a parking lot or deck of a parking garage includes a plurality of optical waveguides disposed in side-by-side relationship and together defining a closed path and at least one LED associated with each optical waveguide and disposed at a first end of the associated optical waveguide.
Abstract:
Solid state light emitting devices include one or more light affecting elements (e.g., of one or more light-transmissive, light-absorptive, light-reflective, and/or lumiphoric materials) formed on, over, or around at least one solid state light emitter, with the light affecting elements including multiple fused elements embodying plurality of dots, rods, or layers such as may be formed by three-dimensional (3D) printing. At least one electrically conductive path in electrical communication with a solid state light emitter may be formed by selective material deposition such as 3D printing. Light affecting elements may be individually tailored to individual solid state light emitters, such as to yield different optical distributions for interactions between each specific emitter and its corresponding light affecting element.
Abstract:
A lighting fixture including a light-emitting arrangement having first and second ends. The light-emitting arrangement includes (a) at least one LED at the first end and (b) a heat sink connected to the at least one LED and having a length extending therefrom toward the second end. There are LED power circuitry components spaced from the light-emitting arrangement and positioned adjacent the second end of the light-emitting arrangement. The fixture includes an elongate tubular channel formed along the length of the heat sink and having wiring therein from the power-circuitry components to the LED(s).
