    摘要: There is provided a solid, particulate, catalytic complex suitable for the stereospecific polymerization of olefins prepared by reducing TiCl.sub.4, contacting the resultant reduced solid with a complexing agent to obtain a treated solid and contacting the treated solid with TiCl.sub.4 in the presence of silica which has been treated with an aromatic ester. When such a catalyst complex is combined with a suitable activator to polymerize olefins, a high degree of stereospecificity is attained, the activity of the catalyst complex is reduced for polymerization control and the efficiency of the titanium employed is enhanced.

    摘要: Novel fuel compositions comprising: (A) A solid and/or semi-solid material formed by a process for upgrading coal which comprises the steps of: (1) subjecting a slurry composed of coal and a solvent containing donatable hydrogen, together with hydrogen, to catalyst-free hydrogenation conditions in a first hydrogenation zone to form an intermediate coal-solvent slurry; (2) deashing said intermediate coal-solvent slurry to form a coal-solvent solution; (3) subjecting said coal-solvent solution to catalytic hydrogenation conditions in a second hydrogenation zone to obtain a product that can be separated at ambient pressure into (a) a first liquid fraction boiling at a temperature in the range of about 100.degree. to about 375.degree. C., (b) a second liquid fraction boiling above said first liquid fraction at a temperature in the range of about 200.degree. to about 525.degree. C. and (c) said solid and/or semi-solid material; and then (4) recycling at least a portion of said second liquid fraction to said first hydrogention zone; and (B) a light-boiling hydrocarbon stock boiling at a temperature in the range of about 100.degree. to about 375.degree. C. at ambient pressure; wherein the weight ratio of said solid and/or semi-solid material to said light-boiling hydrocarbon stock is about 20:1 to about 1.5:1.

    摘要: An integrated in situ combustion process for producing subterranean carbonaceous deposits in which the resulting flue gas of low heating value is combusted over an oxidation catalyst at substoichiometric conditions and is expanded in a gas turbine which drives the air compressor for injecting the combustion air into the underground carbonaceous deposit. An oxidation catalyst is provided for reducing carbon monoxide in the combusted flue gas comprising platinum and at least one metal cocatalyst selected from Groups IA, II, III, VIIB and VIII up through atomic No. 45, the lanthanides, chromium, silver, tin and antimony.

    摘要: The conversion of hydrocarbons in the presence of hydrogen occurs under hydrocarbon conversion conditions in the presence of a subgroup of a certain class of metal-substituted semi-crystalline aluminosilicates which are synthetic and which are predominantly ordered in two directions, that is, which are laminar or have a layered or stacked sheet structure. The metal substituted for the aluminum in the trioctahedral sites is nickel, cobalt, or mixtures thereof. Hydrocarbon conversion catalysts are also claimed comprising the metal-substituted laminar 2:1 layer lattice aluminosilicate minerals containing in addition a hydrogenation component such as palladium. The catalysts are preferably used in hydroisomerization and hydrocracking processes.
