摘要: Methods for bonding a first substrate to a second substrate are described. A surface of the first substrate is coated with an adhesive layer. The adhesive layer is cured to b-stage. The surface of the first substrate is positioned in contact with the second substrate. An edge of the first substrate is pressed to an edge of the second substrate to initiate Van der Waals bonding. The first and second substrates are allowed to come together by Van der Waals bonding. The bonded first and second substrates are subjected to a sufficient heat for a sufficient time period to cure completely the adhesive layer.

摘要: Microelectromechanical systems with structures having piezoelectric actuators are described. The structures each have a body that supports piezoelectric islands. The piezoelectric islands have a first surface and a second opposite surface. The piezoelectric islands can be formed, in part, by forming cuts into a thick layer of piezoelectric material, attaching the cut piezoelectric layer to a body having etched features and grinding the piezoelectric layer to a thickness that is less than the depths of the cuts. Conductive material can be formed on the piezoelectric layer to form electrodes.

摘要: An electrostatic color printer method using a single toning shoe for successively and sequentially applying color liquid developers to a color latent image overlay to a sheet disposed against a rotating drum. An electrostatic head scans the sheet in a helical pattern of abutting stripes and forms the latent image on the sheet. A toning shoe assembly follows the head and applies one of the color developers to the sheet. A drain selector foot, pivotable beneath the toning shoe, brings an appropriate developer recycling tube into communication with a drain in the toning shoe assembly for returning used developer to the correct supply tank. After scanning the sheet, the toning shoe is rinsed with a solvent at a cleaning station past the end of the drum. The toning shoe has a plurality of pressure responsive reed valves, each communicating with one of a plurality of channels in the shoe for selecting sequential color developers until the entire image is toned in repeated passes of the single toning shoe.

摘要: A method and apparatus for bonding on a silicon substrate are disclosed. An apparatus includes a membrane having a lower membrane surface and an upper membrane surface, a transducer having a transducer surface substantially parallel to the upper membrane surface, and an adhesive connecting the membrane to the transducer surface. In some implementations, the lower membrane surface is substantially contiguous and the upper membrane surface protrudes therefrom. In some other implementations, the upper membrane surface is substantially contiguous and the lower membrane surface is recessed therein.

摘要: A printhead having a monolithic semiconductor body with an upper face and a lower face. The body defines a fluid path including a pumping chamber, a nozzle flow path, and a nozzle opening. The nozzle opening is defined in the lower face of the body and the nozzle flow path includes an accelerator region. A piezoelectric actuator is associated with the pumping chamber. The actuator includes a piezoelectric layer having a thickness of about 50 micron or less.

摘要: Ink jet printheads and printhead components are described. One printhead includes a flow path and a piezoelectric actuator. The flow path includes a pumping region and the piezoelectric actuator is associated with the pumping region. The actuator has a pre-fired piezoelectric layer with a thickness of about 50 microns or less. A bonding layer fixes the pre-fired piezoelectric layer relative to the flow path.
