    摘要： The invention relates to apparatus for piecing-up yarn on an open-end spinning machine.A yarn reserve forming member is movable between an extended position, in which it constrains the yarn to follow a prescribed reserve yarn path, and a retracted position, in which the yarn follows another prescribed and shortened path and the end of yarn and its length, which is the difference between the lengths of said prescribed paths, is permitted to return to the spinning means to contact fibres fed thereto.To achieve efficient piecing-up, the yarn moves between such prescribed pathways from one to the other under control of the reserve forming member while the reserve yarn path is in a sense depleted and the yarn is caused by yarn insertion means to be inserted in the delivery roller nip at a predetermined position in the course of movement by the reserve forming member when the latter moves to the retracted position.Preferably, the yarn is engaged by a yarn retaining means when in the extended position from which it is released by the resultant tension in the yarn at the end of the movement of the reserve forming member to the retracted position.

    摘要： The device for rectal lavage includes a generally rigid tubular body (10) having a relatively flexible tapered front end nozzle portion (12) for insertion into the anus (50) of a patient. A port (14) is provided for the insertion of an irrigation hose (16) into the device, which passes through a nozzle opening (18). At least one drain hole (20) is positioned in said nozzle (12), spaced from said opening (18), for the passage of irrigated fecal matter from the rectum (52) into the hollow interior (24) of said tubular body (10). A discharge outlet (22) member from the hollow interior (24) of said tubular body (10) for the discharge of irrigated fecal matter from the device. In the method, the device is inserted into the anus (50) of the patient, the irrigation hose (16) is fed through the device into the rectum (52) of the patient, irrigation fluid is passed through the irrigation hose (16) and irrigated fecal matter is allowed to pass through said drain holes (20) into the hollow interior (24) of said tubular body (10) and is discharged therefrom through said discharge outlet (22).

    摘要： In the field of pain relief and treatment there is a need for a device which is able to administer several predetermined doses of an opioid analgesic in a manner which can be done simply and safely by a patient or carer; in particular in a manner which minimises the risk of administering too great a dose at any one time. A device (10), for administering a predefined number (N) of predefined volume unit doses (Vu) of an opioid analgesic in liquid form, includes a closed container (12) which contains a predetermined fill volume (Vf) of the opioid analgesic, and a dispenser (14) that is connected to the container (12). The dispenser (14) is operable to administer an individual one volume unit dose (Vu) repeatedly said predefined number of times (N). Both the dispenser (14) is adapted, and the concentration of said opioid analgesic is chosen such that said volume unit dose is in the range 0.05 to 0.15 ml.
