The present invention provides matrixes doped with semiconductor nanocrystals. In certain embodiments, the semiconductor nanocrystals have a size and composition such that they absorb or emit light at particular wavelengths. The nanocrystals can comprise ligands that allow for mixing with various matrix materials, including polymers, such that a minimal portion of light is scattered by the matrixes. The matrixes of the present invention can also be utilized in refractive index matching applications. In other embodiments, semiconductor nanocrystals are embedded within matrixes to form a nanocrystal density gradient, thereby creating an effective refractive index gradient. The matrixes of the present invention can also be used as filters and antireflective coatings on optical devices and as down-converting layers. The present invention also provides processes for producing matrixes comprising semiconductor nanocrystals.

A method and apparatus for maintaining routing information in a Peer-to-Peer (P2P) network are provided. The method includes that: a super maintenance node receives routing update information of an ordinary node in its home area; the super maintenance node sends routing update information to super maintenance nodes in other network areas; the super maintenance nodes in other network areas notify ordinary nodes in their home network areas to update routing information. With the present invention, a node of strong processing capabilities at the network area border is chosen to act as a super maintenance node and other nodes as ordinary nodes; when a node joins or fails, an ordinary node sends detected routing update information only to the super maintenance node in the local network area; the super maintenance node then forwards the update information to super maintenance nodes in other network areas. Each super maintenance node notifies ordinary nodes in its home network area of the received routing update information.

A method and system have been described for counteracting and correcting for read disturb effects in blocks of flash memory. The method may include the step of a controller of the memory system performing a read scrub scan on only a portion of one targeted word line in a block at desired intervals. The controller may calculate whether a read scrub scan is necessary based on a probabilistic determination that is calculated in response to each received host read command. The controller may then place a block associated with the targeted word line into a refresh queue if a number of errors are detected in the targeted word line that meets or exceeds a predetermined threshold. The block refresh process may include copying the data from the block into a new block during a background operation.

The friction material at least contains the following materials in mass content: 2-30% of alkaline earth-based metal compound and 2-30% of carbon fiber, wherein the alkaline earth-based metal compound is MxFeyTiOz, M is alkaline earth element Be, Mg, Ca, Sr or Ba, x is 0.2-2, y is 1-2, and z is 4-16. The friction material prepared according to the invention has excellent friction wear performance, high property of heat conductivity and excellent high temperature fading resistance. The temperature on the friction surfaces is effectively reduced during braking.

A solution is provided for automatically adjusting a webpage. According to the method of the present invention it can be automatically learned what the user's historical browsing behaviors are and thereby predict which block in the webpage would interest the user more so that it would be the one to be browsed and then adjust display of the block accordingly. Thus, with the present invention, limited screen resources can be utilized to more efficiently display the content that would interest a user when the user browses a webpage. A system for automatically adjusting a webpage and a computer readable article of manufacture tangibly embodying non-transitory computer readable instructions which, when executed, cause a computer to carry out the steps of a method for automatically adjusting a webpage, are also provided.
