摘要: The present invention relates to plane-parallel structures of silicon/silicon oxide (silicon/silicon oxide flakes), obtainable by heating plane-parallel structures of SiOy in an oxygen-free atmosphere at a temperature above 400° C., wherein 0.70≦y≦1.8, or plane-parallel structures of silicon/silicon oxide, obtainable by heating plane-parallel structures of SiOx in an oxygen-free atmosphere at a temperature above 400° C., wherein 0.03≦x≦0.95, a process for their production and their use for the production of interference pigments.

摘要: The present invention relates to platelet-shaped pigments that comprise a layer obtained by calcining TiO2/SiOy or TiO2/metal, especially TiO2/AI (0.03≦y≦1.95, especially 0.03≦y≦1.8, more especially 0.70≦y≦1.8), and to the use thereof in paints, textiles, ink-jet printing, cosmetics, coatings, plastics, printing inks, in glazes for ceramics and glass, and in security printing. The pigments according to the invention are distinguished by a high gloss and a very uniform thickness, as a result of which very high colour purity and colour strength are obtained.

These pigmented vitreous materials can be used as colored materials for any known purposes. Soluble pigment precursors comprising a partial structure are also claimed, wherein X1 is an aromatic or heteroaromatic ring, B is hydrogen or a group of the formula but at least one group B is not hydrogen, and L is a solubilizing group.

摘要: The invention relates to a collection of composite plateletlike particles comprising a core and at least one coating layer consisting essentially of a compound having from 60 to 95% by weight of carbon and from 5 to 25% by weight of nitrogen, the balance to 100% being selected from elements of the group consisting of hydrogen, oxygen and sulfur. The invention also relates to processes for the manufacture thereof, to polymer compositions containing it, and to the use thereof as effect pigments. Preferably, the process for preparing the instant collection of particles comprises the steps of (a) suspending plateletlike particles in a liquid; (b) optionally adding a surface modifier, a polymerisation catalyst or both; (c) before or after step (b), adding one or more polymers containing nitrogen and carbon atoms, or one or more monomers which are capable to polymerize to said polymer; (d) effecting a polymeric coating layer to be formed on the surface of said plateletlike particles from the polymers or monomers added at step (c); (e) isolating said plateletlike particles having said polymeric coating layer from the suspension; and (f) heating said plateletlike particles having said polymeric coating layer to a temperature of from 100° C. to 1000° C. in a gaseous environment.

The pigments show an improved sparkle effect; in particular an attractive high sparkle intensity.
