    摘要: The present invention provides a connector capable of being simply and easily connected without loss of electrical continuity even in a harsh environment.First joining terminals 201a and 201b are supported by a female housing 200, and second joining terminals 401a and 401b electrically connected to the first joining terminals 201a and 201b are supported by a male housing 400. The male housing 400 is inserted to mate with the female housing 200, which performs electrical connection. Further, slit ribs 205a to 205d are formed in the direction of mating in the female housing 200, and slits 405a to 405d along the direction of mating are formed in the male housing 400. The slit ribs 205a to 205d have recessed tapered shapes formed at a predetermined rate of angular change and a predetermined rate of width change, and the slits 405a to 405d have tapered shapes having a rate of angular change and a rate of width change which are respectively greater than the predetermined rate of angular change and the predetermined rate of width change of the slit ribs.

A carriage arm extends from the carriage block body along an imaginary plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the support shaft. The carriage arm has a wall surface defining a cylindrical space at the tip end of the carriage arm. A projection is formed on the wall surface at a position off an intermediate plane set perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the cylindrical space so that the cylindrical space is equally divided into a first cylindrical space and a second cylindrical space by the intermediate plane.     摘要: When crimping suspensions to carriage arms using a metal ball by applying ultrasonic vibration to a crimping tool, the suspensions can be crimped to the carriage arms without causing deformation to the suspensions and the like. A method of assembling a carriage assembly aligns attachment holes provided in front ends of carriage arms and crimping portions provided on suspensions to set the suspensions on the carriage arms and then presses a ball through crimping holes provided in the crimping portions while applying ultrasonic vibration to the crimping tool to crimp the suspensions to the carriage arms. When doing so, a ball, such as a ball whose surface has been subjected to a dimpling process, for which a load that acts on the ball when the ball passes through the crimping holes is low compared to a spherical ball is used to crimp the suspensions to the carriage arms.
